In this week’s tabletop RPG news, we take a step back from Dungeons & Dragons and focus on some other big players in the space. Darrington Press gave us a Daggerheart release date, the Marvel RPG announced an Avengers assembly, Possum Creek leveled up, and Kult unveiled a huge Kickstarter campaign.
Daggerheart Finally Gets A Release Date
Critical Role revealed that its Daggerheart TTRPG is coming to stores on May 20. The core book will first release in local game stores on May 20, followed by a wider release in more conventional book stores on June 3. The core book and limited edition can also still be pre-ordered on the Darrington Press website. Both versions come with cards that supplement the character sheet with special abilities.
Marvel Multiverse RPG Assembles Avengers
The Marvel Multiverse RPG will get a sourcebook centered on the Avengers, coming this summer. The YouTube channel Near Mint Condition discovered the news while going through Marvel’s May solicitations. The expansion book is said to contain stat blocks for the big six Avengers (as made popular by the MCU). There will also be new rules for creating legendary weapons like Mjolnir or Cap’s shield plus base building mechanics.
Wanderhome Publisher Joins Steve Jackson Games
Possum Creek, known for publishing the award-winning Wanderhome, joined the Steve Jackson Games portfolio as an imprint. Steve Jackson Games is well-known as the publisher of GURPS and Munchkin, reports EN World, and will bring on several notable Possum Creek staff on as lead roles. Possum Creek is said to be keeping full editorial control over its projects.
Kult Kickstarter Brings 4 Books To The Game
An ongoing Kickstarter for horror hit Kult: Divinity Lost gives backers a chance to get four new books at once. Two of the new entries are sourcebooks that highlight an important city and extraplanar locations. The other two offer adventures for both experienced players and beginners. Fans of Kult can of course grab all four in one go, or they can narrow down to what interests them with either the sourcebook duo or adventure duo. Newbies can grab a PDF of the core rules at certain tiers as well. The campaign ends on February 28.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for taking the time to catch up on TTRPG news with us, and may your dice be kind!
