About the adventure

Hi! This adventure runs you through levels 3 to 12, meaning that you will start with your subclass and most key features to a character. The setting is Exandria, one written by Matt Mercer, a renowned and famous DM and Voice Actor, and the one that is the setting for his own campaign: Critical Role. The adventure is meant for every type of person, it has plenty of exploration, combat and roleplay beats to go off of and allows for plenty of character driven moments. This adventure is meant for veteran and new players alike and very much covers themes of corruption, purification, destiny and a greater good. The start of the adventure will be taking place in Xhorhas, a land of where monstrous and humanoid races live together. Goblins, Drow, Minotaurs and Bugbears all together to survive in the rough climates. The adventure then takes the players to places across Exandria and beyond the Material Plane itself.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Organized Play

Organized Play uses a standardized ruleset for character creation, leveling, and rewards. Every character plays by the same rules. Its strength is flexibility: bring your character to any table and jump right in. With tight rule adherence, every game feels consistent, fair, and ready for adventure.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare

All that I ask for is a decent quality microphone and a free account on Forge(A server hosting website I use for FoundryVTT) Foundry does not require you to pay as it is a single purchase program on my side. We will handle safety, triggers and everything during session 0. Webcam is optional, I myself do not use one.

What I provide

I provide a decent level of character voices(I am myself not a voice actor so it's very much amateur level). I do run tactical combats, though I am not a fan of causing character deaths, so do not worry about getting attached to one. I do very much stick to the Rule of Cool as long as it is within a balanced and not gamebreaking sense.

Gameplay details

We will be very much using the X card during play, all you have to do is message me X privately on Discord for me to stop talking about something and immediately change topics, this is anonymous. We will discuss lines and veils during session 0, we will be discussing safety during that as well.

How will character creation work

Character concepts will be done during session 0 with the full creation process being a private thing between me and you. The strating level of this adventure is Level 3. We will be using the 2014 Character Creation rules. For allowed books during character creation you can use: The Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and Fizban's Treasury of Dragons. Just to keep everyone nice and on the same field of power. If you need help with sources or character creation in general, do not worry, I am very experienced in helping new players learn the ropes. The Character Sheets will be made on FoundryVTT as it is the VTT(Virtual Tabletop) we will be using for combats, play and sheet management. For stats we will be doing Point Buy with the Optional Rules from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (So your stat choices are +2, +1 or +1,+1, +1 to any stats you choose.
