About the adventure

The setting takes place in Ke'ra. Ke'ra is a typical fantasy world Magic, bandits and dark times. The continent you find yourself on is Astoria, Ripped apart during the war of the gods. Titans ripped apart the earth, Forming and destroying mountains with ease. Religions changed, wars between kingdoms started, many fell. With the end of the god wars the old gods too were gone. There was darkness for a while.. and then the new gods touched back down on Ke'ra ending the wars and famine affecting the lands. Hundreds of years later the world has healed and new kingdoms have risen. --------- Most land in Astoria is rough, most eat poultry and fish as it is all they can do being unable to grow food very well. The ocean's surrounding Astoria have been discovered to be heated to boiling, despite this there is no steam that flows upwards. It wasn't until recently that Verdantia discovered how to traverse the water safely. Although most don't know this. ------ The two Kingdoms.. The Aurorium kingdom, Founded by Lady Journ a woman claiming to have absorbed a piece of the titans themselves. The kingdom claims the western side of Astoria; lands leveled to the oceans with plains and forests suitable for farming and animal husbandry. Most people in this kingdom have a better life in terms of food and comfortableness. Verdantia's start is rumors and uncertain. The biggest rumor was that it was founded by an unknown king. It is often said he made a deal with a powerful devil. Nowadays, what used to be empty and rough land is now home to thousands of people of a variety of different species finding refuge in the constantly growing kingdom. --------------

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

How to prepare

I personally don't play with a webcam however I never request or make my players use it. A mic isn't super required but! It is nice. In my current campaign one of my players is mute so they RP through text. Discord is required as it's where we meet up and have session!

What I provide

I do my best to bring voices and such into my sessions, Rule of cool on top. When it comes to combat, I'd say I like to make them challenging with extra components such as things they need to worry about. I tend to forget to prep puzzles but when I do! They're pretty solid so I've heard from my players.

Gameplay details

During character creation I ask my players what's their limit and something they'd rather not RP or see RP. And I just.. don't use it! I also ensure that every player at the table is having fun and enjoying themselves. I'm a pretty open guy and I value open communication between players and DM. Typically I like to keep players around after session so we can just talk. About the session or ourselves. Just to continue to build our bond.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be a process that I usually take up on to one with my players. To see what kind of characters they want to make and where it'd fit in the world. I prefer backstories up to a minimum of one paragraph. But as long as your character has something I can work with we can discuss further! As for mechanical purposes, we'll probably go by point buy + an ASI/Feat. Base DND content is fine, however homebrew and critical role content needs to be run by me first!
