About the adventure

Everything is going wrong in the Feywild. A coven of hags have corrupted the realm with their wicked magic, throwing off the balance of reciprocity, hospitality, and respect that were once hallmarks of the fairy dimension. It may be up to you and a small band of plucky, sentient woodland creatures to set things right. The carnival is behind you. The Feywild has grown stranger, sadder, and even slimier. You've arrived in Downfall, a rotting swamp where gossip is currency, betrayal bubbles under the surface, and the local frogfolk aristocracy croak about loyalty while sharpening their knives. At the center of it all lurks Bavlorna Blightstraw, a fetid hag with a smile like mildew and a taste for misery. Her home is equal parts haunted house and hoarder’s den, and unfortunately, you’ve caught her attention. This isn’t a story where you kick down the door and win by force. It’s a place of whispered schemes, cursed memories, and desperate creatures clinging to power. You’ll navigate boggy courts, backroom deals, and eldritch oddities, deciding which masks to wear and which ones to burn. Your choices ripple through the swamp, and the Feywild is always listening. If you’re joining now, you’re stepping into the middle of a dream unraveling, and you might be the one who helps stitch it back together. Expect talking toads, tiny spies, eerie riddles, and bursts of real emotion amid the absurdity. This is fantasy for the brave and the bizarre, the tender and the tenacious. Welcome to Downfall. Try not to drown.

About me

Hello! Pull up a chair, friend. This world is sorely in need of stories worth telling. A bit of lightness, a bit of courage, a bit of clever wordplay. There's nothing like a roleplaying game to draw out the best in us, and also to let us explore parts of ourselves that rarely see the light. That's why I play. I hope you'll join me! I’m always learning and growing, and I try to read as much as I can about D&D, game design, history, politics, and storytelling. I am a big fan of Dimension20, especially seasons where Aabria Iyengar or Brennan Lee Mulligan are the Dungeon Master.

Character creation

Creating your character

We are currently at Level 3! Some fun character options in the Witchlight setting include - Harengons and Fairies! - Feylost and Witchlight Hand backgrounds I will of course have some pre-generated characters available if you prefer that over making your own.

The current party

We are currently Level 3! We have a Jerbeen Artificer, a Satyr Druid, a Tortle Sorcerer, and a Tabaxi Rogue.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Required: ✅ Free D&D Beyond account ✅ Discord account ✅ Roll20 account ✅ Beyond 20 extension (available on Google Chrome or Firefox) Please familiarize yourself with the rules and with your character abilities before the game. Once you join, I will arrange a time to do a one-on-one Session 0 with you to get you setup and to make sure we're a good fit for each other! At Session 0, we will talk about the safety tools, the fantasy world we'll be playing in, and about the characters' relationships to each other.

What Isaac brings to the table

No matter your experience level, I set a welcoming, inviting tone at my games. Your questions are good, your baggage from your last game is not too much, your experience matters to me! Pull up a chair, friend. I have a Master Tier D&D Beyond account and a Pro Roll20 account. All the sourcebooks you need will be available to you online through my accounts. Many (not all) of my games reflect a certain political perspective. If your idea of a good time is leading a revolt of goblins against their bugbear bosses, or infiltrating the upper echelons of the Lords' Alliance to provide intelligence on their plans to the anti-feudal peasants movement, we might like the same things. Not every game or story arc I run will be explicitly anti-imperial, but I like to put bread crumbs on the path in that direction. I’m a musician and an artist at heart, so I love incorporating graphic design elements, musical soundtracks and ambient noise, beautiful maps, and character art to enhance the experience of the game. I think the biggest thing I bring to the table is a flair for the dramatic. I was a musical theater kid in high school. Character voices. Storytelling. High drama. Heartrending conflict. This is the stuff I like. Very much. The Rule of Cool is a very important part of my style. If something will move the story forward in a cool way, I may not even have you roll for it. I’ve been learning that rolling too much can be a real barrier to more important things, like the narrative and the dramatic moment.
