About the adventure
The roads are dangerous as of late. Bandit attacks, aggressive monsters, and even a blue dragon that's rumored to have settled in the area! It's no wonder Gundren Rockseeker asked for a few extra hands for the transport caravan to Phandalin. The town is small, out of the way, and surrounded by exactly the sorts of dangers that'd been popping up all over the papers back in Neverwinter. But when your benefactor goes missing, you find yourselves drawn into a web of events far past simple caravan guarding. Become the heroes of Phandalin, uncover lost magical secrets, fight yourself some dragons, and even be pulled in the midst of frontier town politics as the story continues to unravel! This adventure mixes the classic Lost Mines of Phandelver with Dragon of Icespire Peak and it's sequel adventures, along with some elements from Shattered Obelisk as well as MANY of my own design changes. Thematically, the main ideas this campaign explores are the themes of Nature Vs. Civilization, and Sword Coast geopolitics from powers in the region and various factions trying to gain influence over Phandalin and its nearby resources in the background of the adventure. All of this will be displayed with Forgotten Adventures and other high quality battle maps, art from creators like JamesRPG's beautiful moving splash pages, highly curated music, and a extensive list of about 200+ mods to add extra features to gameplay, character creation, quest tracking, feature automation, attack and spell animations, and more all with the intent to make things as customizable and as easy to manage as possible, even if you're new to Foundry, so you can get right into the game and focus on the story. When all is said and done, can you push back the storm? Or will you be just another line of heroes lost to Faerûnian history? --- Join this module if you enjoy: 🏔️Experiencing a heavily reworked, personalized version of multiple classic adventures in the region of Phandalin, rolled into an overarching story line! ⚔Tactical combat facilitated and automated by Foundry VTT, complete with animations and special effects 🎨Beautiful visual assets, maps with interactive elements, dynamic music and soundscapes, and plenty of props all curated for an immersive experience in mind 🎭Dynamic NPC friends and enemies with their own motivations, opinions, and stories to interact with! 🌈 Beginner and LGBTQ+ friendly, with zero tolerance for ableism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, etc. --- Combat to RP ratio: My games tend to more RP, sometimes going a few sessions in a row without combat if the players decide they'd rather explore their backstories and interact with NPCs around them. This game will have more combat than my norm, though I've still focused on expanding the political, social, and exploration roleplay around Phandalin in the rewrites I've made. It will still be mostly up to the party, but I'd estimate a split of 40/60.
Campaign Rundown document going into more detail for character creation, expectations, session-zero topics, ect: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UVQN2RHLbbOnl_n8DtTfLLP9ps8JWbiYQ8jk4a8Ks40/edit This adventure is a mixup of a number of starter modules such as Lost Mines and Dragon of Icespire Peak, plus content from its sequel adventures and a lot of my own modifications. Even if you've played through some of these modules, expect new maps, additional encounters, changes to story design and combat designs, and extra details and connections to keep engaged. I will be doing my best to make this engaging to both new and long time D&D players, though specifically catering to those who want a more in depth story and roleplaying experience. How to prepare
🎙️A working microphone that is clear, as well as headphones to keep from picking up feedback from your speakers. 🖥️I will need you to have a Foundry account, Discord, and D&D Beyond where we'll start out making characters for me to port to the Foundry game. 🎲If you are new, you do not need to be fully familiar with D&D's rule system. I am more than happy to help you learn! 🔍A willingness to put yourself out there, and help drive the story and dig into plotlines. Other than that, come in with a expectation for a very story heavy, immersive, and character driven experience! But remember that it's one that you will be taking with others, and the best story is one that is shared.
What I provide
✨Every published product on D&D Beyond, including the 2024 Handbook, allowing you instant access to all character creation options. ✨A fully setup Foundry server (free for players to play on). I already have maps set up with multiple levels, beautiful special effects, and modules that make note taking, time tracking, and ambiance leagues above Roll20 (which I say after logging over 9500+ hours on Roll20 pro tier), and I have worked to make it as intuitive as possible to Foundry beginners! ✨ Extensive Forgotten Realms lore knowledge used to work in more dynamism and world-building into the adventure. ✨ A dependable DM who knows the setting and works to have your characters feel real and developed into the story! ✨ Voices, though I am by no means a professional actor! I do like to think I am constantly improving in that area, trying my best to provide distinct voices for my characters that add and do not distract from gameplay, and have been told that I can do a near perfect sheep impression. ✨A high value on communication and mutual respect. I take check ins and dealing with issues you have seriously, and I am always open to discussing issues at the table you might have with respect.
Gameplay details
While Lost Mines, Dragon of Icespire Peak, and Shattered Obelisk are made to be basic starter adventures, I am not looking to offer a basic experience. While I agree that a more straightforward, simple adventure structure is good as a entry adventure, I also feel as if the designers made choices that...frankly did not make sense in a living, cohesive world. In the aim of making an approachable starter adventure, I also want a dynamic, deep experience that rewards players for engaging past ticking off the next quest item on their list, and to build relationships with the greater Phandalin area and the people that populate it. If that sounds up your ally, I'd love to have you at the table!

How will character creation work
⚔️Boosted 32-point buy with standard 15 Cap to assist more MAD classes such as Monks and Paladins. ⚔️One free feat, but none with major mechanical benefits and it has to tie to their backstory. ⚔️Starting level 2, but very quickly leveling to 3 after the first encounter, so feel free to work subclass into your backstory if you wish. We'll only be level 2 for about a single encounter to help assist new players! ⚔️Any official classes, races, and backgrounds that are not disruptive to existing day to day, such as not being able to climb stairs with a centaur or dying without being submerged in water every so often like a Grung. If you give me a compelling enough story, and they're not meant to break the game, I'll find a way to tie them in! ⚔️Additional options from third party sources such Valdas Spire of Secrets, Grimhollow, or The Book of Ebbon Ties, though these need to be run past me and are accepted on a case by case basis, potentially with tweaks with certain options.
