In the Shadows of Sharn
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The Last War has left the world shattered, but in its wake, there are countless opportunities for those bold enough to seize them. As the Five Nations struggle to rebuild and establish order, mercenary guilds have already begun to establish themselves throughout the lands and none more so than in the city of Sharn. You are among the select few chosen to be part of the newest chapter in one of the up and coming mercenary guilds providing you a multitude of jobs where adventure and danger can be found lurking at every turn. As you take on jobs ranging from investigations to explorations to break-ins, and of course, good old fashioned violence, you'll find yourself navigating the complex web of alliances and rivalries between the countless other organizations and Dragonmarked Houses in the city. Of course, this is just what you see on the surface. In the darker sections of the city, danger skulks instead of stabs, whispers instead of bellows, and, perhaps most dangerously, is patient enough to lie in wait until the perfect moment to strike. It’s true, there's much more to this city than meets the eye, and uncovering its secrets will require more than just simply being the smartest person in the room. You’ll need friends that you can trust, a team of them most likely. Only then will you have the chance to enjoy this journey of epic adventure, forged bonds, and self-discovery! Join us in the Shadows of Sharn and experience the rich and vibrant world of Eberron, as well as the dangers of life within the City of Towers with other players that are just as excited for it as you are. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Otherwise, grab your dagger, sword, mace, lute, or the nearest frying pan (we won’t judge), and get ready to get to work!

How to prepare
I use voice in my games so a decent microphone and good internet connection will be necessary. I use some animated maps in foundry, but I do what I can to keep maps small enough to run on most computers without issue. For my players, I expect them to know how their characters work and the basic system. I am more than willing to help teach these and can spend some time making sure a new player understands the core features of their class. Characters can be made in foundry, or I can import a character from Dndbeyond into the game without issue.
What I provide
I utilize the Legendary Bundle on Dndbeyond that I share with my tables. I use the Forge with Foundry to make servers available between games. I subscribe to several Patreons to provide interesting maps and effects in my games. In each session, I will be prepared and excited to get started. I will do my best to ensure that all of my players are given chances at the spotlight and are encouraged to work together as a team. I will always be willing to listen as problems arise, and I am happy to problem solve issues if they occur.
Gameplay details
I enjoy utilizing Roleplay between party members as well as NPCs to watch characters develop. Because of this Roleplay will be very common throughout most sessions. I also make it a point to add in exciting chances for dynamic combat. Enemies will be played with their own motives and goals, and the environment can and will be utilized to create tactical advantages for either side. I utilize foundry for combat so vision, cover, and more will be taken into account for combat. I adapt things for my players in both these cases. If the party prefers more roleplay to less combat or really enjoys the combat side of things, the adventure will reflect that going forward. This is also true for things like Puzzles, Survival, and Downtime Mechanics. We will talk about all of this during Session 0 so that I can get a good idea of what combination is going to lead to everyone having the most fun possible. When it comes to experience level, I'm fine with walking you through character creation and class features if you're brand new, and I'm just as excited to have someone that has been playing for decades. This is a game for everyone!

How will character creation work
Characters will start at level one using Point Buy 32 points, max stat 16 before bonuses. If you need help with creating your character, I would be more than happy to help you in the creation process. Otherwise, your character can be made using Dndbeyond and then imported to Foundry. We'll go over more about this after you are accepted into the game and during Session 0 as well.
