About Frollo_GM
Hey :) My name is Frollo, and I love being a GM. I have a relaxed GMing style, story-driven and focused on collaborative fun. I always customize and remix the campaigns I run, so players' choices matter and their stories shape the world. And you are welcome to sit at my table. Beginner, first-timer, veteran, LGBTQ+, introvert and extrovert. It's a safe space for everyone. I promise we will have fun and tell a fantastic story, with you as one of the protagonists. See, the thing is, I love stories. And I love TT Role-Playing Games because YOU get to tell AND live crazy stories. And EVERYONE at my table gets to express themselves, and dream up crazy new identities to play with. To me, TTRPGs are a celebration of creativity and fun. The best stories come from their characters, and that's YOU in a Role-Playing Game! I might be the Worst case of "Forever DM" you've ever seen, probably. I am from Italy, where I live, and I started playing TTRPGs a (very) long time ago, with a group of friends based around a our local game store - one of us actually worked in there. I might have played most RPGs ever published, once or twice. Or at least read them. Lately, I started to really, really like D&D 5E because it reached a great balance of fun, versatility and rules. It is also a very welcoming system for beginners. But in cases of emergency, I can "break the glass" and GM Vampire, Cthulhu, Cyberpunk and Pathfinder like there's no tomorrow.

I became a GM because
Players get to throw fireballs at people. I get to throw DRAGONS at people.
I got started GMing...
I SWEAR I can't even remember. I must have been because I had this wild idea and I needed to let SOMEONE in on it :)
My favorite books are
Anything by Terry Pratchett. And Roger Zelazny. And Terry Brooks. And John Scalzi. And JRR Tolkien. And Stefano Benni. And... -drones on and on - Same for movies and TV shows. The Expanse. Lord of the Rings. The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Blade Runner. Honestly, we could be here all night.
How Frollo_GM runs games
So, I love stories. And I love TT Role-Playing Games because you get to tell AND live the craziest stories. Every playing group is different, and it will always be a new experience. I will strive to balance each player's experience, so that everyone gets their spotlight and fun. I will do my best to help you with your character, and with your ideas, if you want. Onboarding new players is always great. I like Roleplay, and i like Combat and Exploration. I believe they should balance each other confortably. I just LOVE it when role-play and combat support and elevate each other :) Every player is welcome at my table. Everyone has their own space, and their own contribution to the playing group. I love diversity and I strive for inclusivity. There is no space at my tables for those who do not believe my tables are a SAFE space. I think every group has its own style and pace, and finding them is part of the experience. Every group I DM will do or say something new and interesting, and I like that. No adventure is ever the same! A big part of a campaign's ideas comes from YOU, the players, and your characters' backgrounds. I really like to integrate a character's personal backstory in the plot of a campaign. I love getting official modules/adventures and then customize them with my own twists and ideas. I ALWAYS do that, so you will get a fresh, customised experience if you join my games, even if you already played that adventure. I love adapting scenes from books or movies into TTRPG adventures as well. I use music for atmosphere and ambience. And finally, I remake most maps in Dungeon Alchemist, so they look gorgeous :) For example, I have a completely reworked campaign for Eberron, based on the official Forgotten Forge, Grasp of the Emerald Claw, Whispers of the Vampire’s Blade, etc modules, dealing with the origins of warforged. Or, I have adapted the 5E Forgotten Realms Shattered Obelisk adventure to Eberron, involving the Dhakaani Heirs and the Darguun nation.

I deal with rules issues by...
Keeping the flow and the narrative rolling, and check the actual thing later, if possible.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Taika Waititi! Awesome blend of comedy, drama. Make puns. Make epic stands. (in Draconic) "Please don't disembowel the dwarf"
I prep by
reading up stuff, getting 1000+ new ideas, managing to cram a few of them in the session. I actually enjoy creating maps and encouters, I recently found out. Eh, some people crochet. I stage goblin ambushes.
Frollo_GM's ideal table
A great mix of demeanors and personalities, with a wild alternance of pathos and sillyness! Involed in the story and gameplay, but never taking ourselves too seriously. Beer helps.

I am for a vibe that's...
Ideally, it would oscilate between seriousness or drama, and puns or light-hearted fun. Check out Thor: Ragnarok, or Honor Among Thieves. Or anything by Terry Pratchett. We are playing because we want to live stories, but we can't forget we are just rolling funny dice over pretend-goblins Hit Points
I love it when a player
gets involved in the story, and their own character surprises them. When they do something unexpected even to them, because their character just came alive and decided to do something they wouldn't have otherwise considered.
My table is not the place for...
People who are here to "PhLaY", not Have Fun. Atmosphere and Immersion are key, but so is Fun. Or anyone who prevents other players from having their fun.
