About the adventure

Otari is a small fishing town where nothing exciting ever happens... but something smells fishy below the Otari Fishery, and it's up to you to investigate and elliminate the source of the stink. Some say a monstrous beast lurks there, that comes up to feed on the stored catch - but who knows when it will start to feast on fishermen as well as fish? This is a short introductory adventure that should take no more than three hours. It is a classic dungeon delve that introduces the key mechanics of the game in combat, exploration, and investigation scenarios. Players should expect to level up once between the two sessions. We will be using the Foundry VTT for play and Discord for communication.

How to prepare

A good quality microphone (preferably a headset) is required to use Discord. I also strongly encourage players to use video during games. Games using video conferencing are usually more enjoyable for all parties, as video prevents misunderstandings and miscommunication. In addition you will need (free) accounts for Discord and Forge, the service that hosts our Foundry VTT session. Forge and Foundry can both be used on your web browser - for Discord you may download the free client or use the web-based version. Finally, please note that to make the most of Foundry you should be using a computer - the platform is not optimized for smart phones and tablets.

What I provide

Character sheets, handouts, and visual aids will all be provided electronically. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Gameplay details

This is a classic dungeon delve, with many of the normal tropes of the genre. Because it is meant to teach the Pathfinder 2e, it touches in some way on most of the common mechanics of the game, but it is focused on combat, where the game becomes more complex and where, after all, most time is spend in the typical fantasy D20 game. Any language or behaviour that makes other players feel unwelcome or uncomfortable at the table will not be tolerated.
