About the adventure

Whatever your reasoning for being in the small fishing village of Otari, whether just passing through or receiving a letter from an old acquaintance asking for help. One thing is for certain the old tower outside of town known as the Gauntlight Keep is not what it seems. A faint blue glow hangs in the old keep shining every so often gently in the night overlooking the quiet sea town, and yet it's been dark for ages why now all of a sudden? In the dreams of a stargazer she awakes from her nightmare of a dangerous and deadly future for Otari, can the future be changed? Only if new adventurer's are able to take up the mantle and search for the ancient evil once held within the... Abomination Vaults... Long ago secrets will be uncovered and revealed yet again. This is a full campaign starting from the beginner's box and transitioning effortlessly into Abomination Vaults, with some extra side content added in as side quest's to your choosing if you want. This adventure path takes you from level 1-11 and is a Megadungeon released by Paizo, where players venture beneath the ruins of the ancient Gauntlight Tower to to discover a whole host of beasts and plots that threaten the region. Combats can be approached with a social goal in mind, but a single misstep can very easily lead to death. Together we'll weave a story based on your character concept and fellow adventurer's and bring about the age of hero's again. Let new guardians rise up!

How to prepare

You will create your characters together before or during session 0 to create a strong group dynamic and immersive character goals/plots. I use FoundryVTT and Discord as my methods for Roleplaying, though no experience is needed with Foundry to start - all you need is a bit of patience to learn, and I can teach you. ✅ A laptop or Desktop Computer capable of running Foundry VTT online on a web browser preferably Chrome Based. ✅ A working Mic in a quiet environment for 3 hours, video is optional. I will be using a camera most day's as I enjoy the social aspect of seeing my player's and likewise me as I move my hands in wizardly motions like merlin would haha. (please check to make sure you are having no sound/video issues with discord before the game begins the day of the game if possible). ✅ Link for the Player's Guide will be provided, it is highly suggested you look it over. https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf ✅ Require access to Discord and the ability to join a server dedicated to my campaigns for ease of communication. ✅ Have a Forge-vtt.com account its free to create! I have multiple servers, but we'll mostly use this or Molten-hosting for the game. Only forge requires an account to create. ✅ Willingness to have fun! ✅ Be Communicative!

I can also help visualize your character if you don't have character art from MidJourney AI Art Creation.

Gameplay details

My DM Style is a good mixture of Exploration, RP, and Combat across the board in my games, but I do tend to lean on RP more than the other's. I love doing character voices and interacting with the players. Communication has always been my #1 rule so if you have something to say please say it going forward don't be afraid to speak up! I have always been a Rule of Cool DM first and foremost, but I try to adhere to the RAW (Rules as Written), but if you wanna try rolling for something outside the box then let's go for it! During Session 0 I like to bring everyone together so we can discuss safety, etiquette, and tone for the game as described in the players guide. https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf I will also work with you to incorporate character creation and background story into the setting of Otari. If you have any lines or veils we can speak about them during Session Zero. Session Zero is also where we will all meet up on the discord server and discuss character ideas, backgrounds, lore, rules for pf2e or any other questions you may have. Whether you're a completely new to Pathfinder 2e or a staged veteran I'm here to help you incorporate your character as smoothly as I can into the game. If you've never played on Foundry Virtual Table Top before I'll also go over a basic's guide of how to use it and teach you slowly as it will be our main source of the tabletop we will be playing on for the game going forward.

How will character creation work

Session 0 will be done together on discord and going over character creation we will use a combination of Pathbuilder2e website for character creation as it actually helps you to guide you to creating a character, and then building the character fully realized in Foundry VTT. I like to do character creation together as we can discuss if certain character's know each other or are meant to be secret and shown once the game starts, but it gives good motivation and help with designing characters especially when everyone has ideas to help you in coming up with concepts for a character. I also use MidJourney AI to create art to expand not only the adventure, but I will Fully create and Customize a personalized POPout Token for you and your character through Photoshop if you have art you'd like me to use or we can work together to create your own masterpiece via AI. It's their for you to Imagine to your hearts content just let me know! If you'd like to start creating a character these are the rules for character creation. ✔️Starting Level 1 ✔️Variant Attribute Boosts: Allowed ✔️Ancestry: All Common & Uncommon 😈Versatile heritages only apply to common ancestries. ✔️Classes: All Allowed, but there are those that are recommended classes designed for Fighting are preferred, but not mandatory as described in the Player's Guide. ✔️Backgrounds: Common & Uncommon 🌐 - Backgrounds must either be general, regional, or from the Abomination Vaults campaign 🔥 The Backgrounds in the Player's Guide are made to specifically help you in the campaign, so give them a look as you decide, but you don't NEED to choose from them if you prefer another. ✔️ Variant Rules: Free Archetype & Gradual Ability Boost. ✅ Alignment: All Allowed (I prefer non evil alignments; if you choose to do an evil alignment it will be on *you* to ensure your character plays well with the group, and has a motivating reason to be involved.)
