From the first moment I joined a game, I knew Gerik was one of those one-in-a-million GMs that you always hope you'll find somewhere in your tabletop career. Out the gate he was welcoming and helpful in getting me setup, and even after joining he's worked hard to help me get accustomed to Foundry and PF2E overall. Getting into my first session with him really rammed home how lucky I was to find him. The players at the table were all well acquainted both with Gerik and each other, but they folded me in immediately, such that I feel like I've been playing with them for far longer than I actually have. Everything from the get-go was a joy to experience, from getting to know the other player characters, to getting to sample Gerik's style of storytelling and GMing. This man has real talent, capable of crafting scenes that are hilarious one moment, to chilling and terrifying another, with all of it flowing smoothly. Even beyond that, it's obvious Gerik cares about letting players have their characters shine. He takes frequent moments to zoom in on characters and get their thoughts and emotions on matters, and give us players time to let our characters talk and check in. I look forward to my game with him and the other players at the table every week with the kind of excitement I used to get for family vacations or Christmas mornings. If that doesn't tell you how much fun I'm having, I don't know what will.
After nearly a year of adventuring through sewer stink, courtroom drama, political conspiracies, and whatever Jean thinks counts as “comedy,” I can safely say Gerik is one of the absolute best GMs. I've been playing in Gerik's Steel Falcons homebrew campaign and it's been phenomenal. He strikes that rare balance between heart and humour, giving weight to the serious moments without ever losing the joy of the game. The tension hits hard. The laughs hit harder. And somehow, it never stops being character-driven. What sets Gerik apart most though is his dedication to the character's stories. Every single one feels like they matter. Backstories aren’t just flavour, they’re fuel for the plot. Whether you’re the chosen one or the chaos gremlin (me), you get your moments. Big moments. The kind that remind you why you love tabletop games. I’m deeply grateful for the world he’s built, the way he’s included all of us in it, and for showing what it looks like when a GM truly gives players the space to shine. Thank you for the stories, the stakes, and the shenanigans.
Gerik brings a theatricality and fun-loving energy to every game he runs. He doesn't just run an adventure straight from the book, he puts in the work both for your characters AND in the system itself to bring an experience that is story-rich, mechanically satisfying, and truly engaging. Dude is the man.
STOP scrolling. Congratulations! You've found the one. This guy is in every sense of the idea a professional GM. The Running of Foundry, Maps, Art, Music and game plugins are all better than I have ever experienced; and the man's RP has me flinching in terror, roaring in victory, or belly laughing at some NPC doing the worm. And I'm beginning to really root for our character's as they try and make their live's into something. Saturdays are suddenly a day to step into a fantastic and dangerous world for a a few hours. As far as experience with beginners; I had played a bit of PF2E before my current game with G (Sky King's Tomb adventure path), and no Foundry use to speak of, but within two sessions or so I felt very comfortable with the systems of play. And in no small part to Gerik's patience with my learning. Getting going in the game has been so comfortable. The level's of RP are very adjustable so far. Gerik seems to pay a lot of attention to each person's level of enthusiasm for RP, and I've gotten a lot of opportunity to RP out my weird little excitement to be an old timey Barber/Survivalist (thats a weird combo now that I write it out..). The combat has been on the challenging side from my experience. I didn't have to minmax my character to the N'th degree, but thoughtful preparation has been essential so far. And boy howdy does G have an affinity for wicked traps. I've gotten by on more encounters than I can count with a handful of hitpoints or less. And now I have an unbridled hatred for evil Mushroom people, thanks a bunch for that one G! (haha, but seriously dude...) I'm not sure how else to really sell you on the guy. He's constantly cranking out new stuff, and updating old AP's so I guess if you see an AP that he's running all I can do is tell you to click that yes button. It's some of the best money I can spend for my time every single week. And I couldn't be happier with it. (unless you join the 4th slot for our Sky King's Tomb game happening every Saturday, that'd make it better)

How to prepare
Players should start by reading the War for the Crown Player's Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FL_jbxPNXXJGC40zBOQxSICMfNLjqysv/view?usp=sharing. Keep in mind that this is a conversion, so the guide should be used to help inform how you want your character to fit within the story. The mechanical character options presented in the guide are not applicable. More campaign tips are outlined in the discord channels. Our first session will be a combination session 0/1. We'll work together to ensure everyone's characters fit within the adventure narrative and finalize any character builds and backstories. This adventure will involve an extensive amount of politicking and political intrigue, so characters solely focused on combat will not be a good fit. Players should endeavor to build around having a broad skillset, especially since Diplomacy isn't the only skill used to influence people! Events in War for the Crown rely as much on calm words and a winning smile as they do a sharp blade, and while combat will present itself, characters who can blend into the social scene or investigate strange events will find more opportunities to shine. Characters that revolve around rugged wilderness themes or with few options outside of combat will have less to do in many parts of the story. Getting into a roleplaying mindset is a must! Players in my games are encouraged to explore their characters' motivations and personal growth, and how their unique personalities, values, and desires shape their actions and evolve.
