About the adventure

For thousands of years, the churches of Sune, the goddess of life and beauty, and Talona, the goddess of poison and disease, have lived in peace. Sunites remained in FireHair: a loud, beautiful, luscious country, while Talontars remained in Black Lily: a darker, swampier country that worshipped the pestilence and disease their goddess gave them. Once a year, the leaders of the nations would meet at Red Tear, an independent country located between Black Lily and FireHair, where they would have the Annual Black Fire. Through this, peace remained for thousands of years. However, 27 years ago, Talona instructed her followers to infect themselves with a deadly disease so that they might win a war that hadn't started. This disease was called the Withered Lily and turned the infected into a mindless yet incredibly strong zombie... and it was highly contagious. Talona's followers easily traversed the nations of the Empty World to FireHair and fought for 27 years, eventually ending with the death of millions who are now mindless zombies. However, the world is not yet dead. Order remains in FireHair, though barely. And so brought two solutions: The Miracle Workers - Sunites who made it their sole purpose to execute these zombies and find a cure for the Withered Lily, and Plague Rats - Talontar warriors who bested everyone in their nation and became anarchic barons of Black Lily. Now, at the beginning of the newest year, our adventurers find themselves, by some means or another, drawn to the Annual Black Fire for whatever reason they so desire. Through betrayals, deaths, zombies, and weird and unique barons and nation leaders, players will navigate a dying world and try to bring back the order that once was there. Or perhaps they have something else in mind...

Additional Details

How to prepare

Just have yourself a microphone and a decent interwebs connection! We'll also be using D&D Beyond for character creation, and we'll be using Discord for our cahoots. Having the Beyond20 extension is beyond (wink) helpful. You don't need to know ANY lore whatsoever, as it's all more or less homebrewed.

What I provide

I make maps beforehand - they're not the BEST maps you've ever seen, but they're pretty groovy! I also bring some books that will be helpful during character creation.

Gameplay details

In order to ensure everyone feels safe during the game, we'll go over lines and veils in session 0, where I'll talk about possibly triggering topics that will occur during the game.
