Publisher Random House announced three new books for 2024 that use the D&D license, and they could not be any more different. First, and coming soon on January 24, is A Long Rest for Little Monsters. It’s part of the iconic Little Golden Book series for children and features rhymes about how D&D monsters get ready for bed.

Next will be Dungeons & Dragons: Spelljammer: Memory’s Wake releasing on July 2. The brief description labels it as a reboot of the space-faring setting starring a “young woman with a mysterious past.”

Finally, on August 27, will be Puncheons & Flagons: The Official Dungeons & Dragons Cocktail Book. It will feature 75 recipes for cocktails, mocktails, and snacks one might find in a fantasy tavern. Links to pre-order the books can be found on ENWorld.

This Ars Magica 5th Edition Definitive will appear on crowdfunding in the fall of this year. Finally, the base rules will be made available through an open license.

Former D&D Designer Dan Dillon Creates 5E Elden Ring Boss

via: FromSoftware

Dan Dillion has been using his time well after being one of the many layoffs from Wizards of the Coast. His latest project was making Malenia, Blade of Miquella as a 5E boss fight. Malenia is an infamous battle from Elden Ring, known for her brutal difficulty and hard-to-dodge sword dance. The fight takes place over two phases using the Mythic mechanic in true-to-Dark Souls fashion. Many players are sure to weep even as they appreciate the care put into the adaptation.

That’s all for this week! A very fun group of stories. Hope you enjoyed reading and, if you’re playing this weekend, may your dice be kind.
