About the adventure

Ten years ago, a disaster devastated the mining world of Havelburg, driving the survivors underground. Your band of mech pilots find yourself passing through this unremarkable, dust-swept world. Yet lurking in the dust are sinister forces, as you discover when a NHP is kidnapped. The investigation and rescue mission will challenge even experienced pilots as they encounter foes far more challenger than the gangs prowling the planet's surface. Dustgrave is a scenario containing two missions for Lancer, the game of mech combat. In this case, it will take the players from License Level 4 to LL6.

About me

Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I have now reached game number 99 on my quest to play or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I hope to run a wide variety of games here, especially less common games, and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Booked a game last minute. Most DM's would never run it last minute. Not only did Caestus run the game, they were a amazing story teller, ran a super fun session, had awesome intros and narratives and played the AI NPC so great I felt like I was in the opening scene of a SCIFI movie! I got more content done WITH character creation than in any previous 3 hour session and I play a LOT of rpg's. Will book again 100%! Do the same!

Caestus is always very prepared and has been very good at helping introduce me to this type of game. He uses music, sound effects and great story telling to help create the setting of our games. I especially appreciate how patient and quick to answer questions Caestus is. He has helped me get into these types of games and I hope to continue playing!

We played Lancer, which has many different enemies and mechanics going on during combat. He is really good and handling many different things at once and is understanding if you make a mistake and want to fix it. Use of music in strategic moments and times were it would be funny (Danger Zone for example) kept me engaged with the game board and the other players. Highly recommend if you are new to Lancer.

Character creation
Creating your character

Players will start at License Level 4. All mechs and options are available.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

This scenario will be played at License Level 4; players should create a mech and pilot, although I will be happy to assist with character creation. Players should also have Roll20 and discord accounts.

What Caestus brings to the table

I will provide a Roll20 loaded with maps and appropriate mech images for the players to employ and visualize the battle. We'll also have music, and even sound effects. Lancer is primarily a mech combat system, but Dustgrave also has a good amount of roleplaying. I have experience running and playing Lancer, and should be able to set up some exciting, challenging battles for the players.
