About me
Hey, I’m Trent—a long-time GM, former chef, and music obsessive who believes the best games are the ones where everyone’s having fun and feeling heard. I run laid-back, story-forward sessions where character choices shape the world and the vibe is collaborative, not competitive. Whether we’re deep in political intrigue, unraveling cosmic horror, or just figuring out how the hell to get out of a cursed tavern, I’m here to help you live out the story you want to tell. I’ve been GMing for years, mostly in D&D 5e, but I also love Monster of the Week, Blades in the Dark, and other narrative-heavy systems. I cut my teeth on messy Powered by the Apocalypse campaigns, and I still bring that love of consequence and improvisation to every table I run. I’m comfortable running modules, homebrew worlds, or somewhere in between—depending on what players are looking for. When I’m not GMing, I’m probably playing disc golf, talking about emo bands from the 2010s, or rewatching The Blair Witch Project for the fiftieth time. I like games where things feel real, even when they get weird. If that sounds like your thing, let’s roll.

I am very new to TTRPGs in general but I thought Trent provided an awesome intro to a lesser known game like Shadowdark. The campaign ran smoothly, there were some fun moments and it definitely felt deadly AF at certain times! We didn't die but we were close several times. Would happily play in another one of Trent's games.
A no-frills / no holds barred romp through the Citadel of the Lost Minotaur brought out a good few of the classic dungeon-crawling tropes that could be expected (and that's a GOOD thing ! lol): we almost split the party, met fun denizens then not-so-fun ones, and the session ended with a bang.... quite literally. In conclusion: Trent is a solid GM that will deliver. Join his table with your eyes closed, but bring in some torches !

What Trent Tetreault brings to the table
I provide everything you need to jump in and play—pre-generated characters, simple rules explanations, and a fun, no-pressure environment. If you’re new to TTRPGs or Shadowdark, don’t worry—I’ll guide you through everything as we go. This one-shot is about having a good time exploring a spooky dungeon, not memorizing rulebooks. As a GM, I focus on atmosphere, player creativity, and group storytelling. I use ambient music and thematic background sounds to enhance the mood and bring the dungeon to life. I occasionally dip into character voices for monsters and NPCs, but nothing over-the-top. I love it when players try clever or bold ideas, and I follow a "Rule of Cool" mindset over strict rules lawyering—if it sounds awesome and fits the tone, we’ll find a way to make it work. Combat is fast, dangerous, and tactical, but not overwhelming. Expect tense moments, tough choices, and maybe a glorious death or two—it’s part of the charm! My goal is to create a game that feels exciting and cinematic without getting bogged down in complexity. Whether you’re looking to try Shadowdark for the first time or just want a fun dungeon crawl with a great group, you’ll find a warm welcome at my table.

How Trent Tetreault creates a safe table
I want everyone at the table to feel safe, respected, and comfortable. Before we begin, I’ll check in about any topics folks would prefer to avoid—nothing formal, just a quick conversation to make sure we're all on the same page. During the game, we’ll use a simple safeword system. If anyone says "pause" or "nope" at any time, we’ll immediately stop and check in, no questions asked. You don’t need to explain or justify anything—your comfort comes first. My goal is to run a fun, relaxed game where everyone can enjoy the spooky vibes and wild moments without worrying about crossing any lines. If something ever feels off, I’ll always be available to talk afterward too.
