About the adventure

Welcome to The Isles of Dravendor—a high-fantasy campaign set in a skybound world shattered by ancient catastrophe. The land floats above the elemental chaos below, tethered together by powerful magics and fragile alliances. But now, something older and stranger is stirring. The Dreamwild, a realm of dreams, prophecy, and fey wonder, is collapsing—and its unraveling threatens to drag the waking world with it. This is a story-driven D&D 5e campaign where magic seeps into every corner of the world. Expect vibrant characters, powerful factions, and tangled mysteries spanning the floating continents. You’ll explore strange biomes, uncover secrets buried in cloud-shrouded ruins, and make choices that shape the fate of not just nations, but reality itself. The tone balances wonder and danger: surreal dreamscapes, political intrigue among sky-cities, whimsical fey bargains, and battles that challenge both your wit and will. This campaign rewards creativity, bold decisions, and emotional roleplay. Whether you’re chasing a vision, fleeing a haunted past, or answering a call to heroism, your story matters here. Perfect for players who love character arcs, dynamic worldbuilding, and immersive storytelling, this campaign is LGBTQ+ inclusive and beginner-welcoming. Whether you’re new to D&D or a veteran skyfarer, come find your place among the drifting isles—before they fall.

About me

Hi, I’m Anya — I'm a Game Master who takes this craft seriously and plays to create unforgettable moments. I run games with strong emotional beats, real choices, and high-stakes combat, all grounded in a living world that reacts to you. I care deeply about making players feel seen, heard, and part of something that matters — whether it's a single boss fight or a year-long campaign arc. I love seeing characters come to life through bold decisions, messy consequences, and genuine roleplay. I'm not here to perform or railroad — I'm here to collaborate. I give players space to explore who they are, and then I make the world respond. That said, I keep a clear tone: no romance, no flirting, no edgy edgelord drama — just smart, story-rich fun that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you're looking for a GM who builds around your character, respects your time, and brings both intensity and laughter to the game — that's what I do. For the quickest response, please reach out to me on Discord: anya_gm. I do get emails from StartPlaying messages, but I check Discord more regularly to stay connected.

What Anya Maria brings to the table

🗺️ Virtual Tabletop: We’ll use Owlbear Rodeo for maps and combat—it’s lightweight, fast, and perfect for tactical encounters. 📖 D&D Beyond: Character sheets are managed here, with all my sourcebooks shared for easy access and character creation. 🎵 Atmosphere: Expect immersive ambient music and soundscapes tailored to the scene—whether it’s a tense battle or a quiet moment by the fire. ⚔️ Tactical Combat: Battles are strategic and dynamic, rewarding clever thinking, teamwork, and creativity. 🎭 Roleplay Focus: I support deep roleplay and character-driven moments—but no need to perform voices. We focus on emotion, choices, and story.

Homebrew rules

💀 No Revivify or Similar Spells We’ve removed resurrection magic to make death feel meaningful and permanent. Your choices really matter! ⚰️ Permanent Death Threshold If your HP drops to half your max negative HP (like -5 if your max is 10) or you fail death saves, your character will sadly pass on for good. 🧪 Potions as Bonus Actions Drinking a potion takes just a bonus action so healing feels quick and smooth. 🎲 Hinderance Points (Anti-DM Inspiration) You can earn and spend Hinderance Points to make the DM roll enemy or challenge checks with disadvantage—your chance to turn the tide! 🕵️ Private Death Saves The DM will roll death saves in secret to keep things suspenseful and immersive. 😵 Exhaustion on Downed Each time you drop to 0 HP, you gain a level of exhaustion—a gentle reminder to stay careful and manage your resources.

Safety

How Anya Maria creates a safe table

✅ Session 0 – We’ll talk through expectations, tone, and any content you’d like to avoid or spotlight. Everyone starts on the same page. 🛑 X, N, and O Cards – You can type or signal X (stop), N (not sure), or O (all good) at any time during play to help manage emotional safety in real time. ⏸️ Breaks – Scheduled breaks are included every session, and anyone can ask for one at any time—no need to explain why. 💬 Aftercare – I check in after sessions to make sure everyone’s feeling good and to talk through anything that came up. 🚪 Open Door – You’re free to leave a session or step away if needed—no pressure, no explanations required. ⚖️ Luxton Technique – During intense scenes, I’ll check if you want the moment to challenge your character, or if it’s becoming emotionally too much for you as a player. It’s a quick way to adjust tone without breaking the flow. To keep the focus on story and group dynamics: ❌ PvP is not allowed. ❌❤️ Romance between PCs or with NPCs is off the table.
