About the adventure

Stephen Albrecht's Grove Grotto of the Mushroom Mage is an old school revival that is rife with RNG and fungi horror. A deadly flu ravages the town of Frohnau. The healer, Malkus, sought a cure in the nearby grove. But he hasn't returned. Legend speaks of a druid who founded the grove as a place to balance life and healing with death and sacrifice. A plundering adventuring party has disturbed that balance, and now Malkus may pay the price. It now falls to you and your party to find the healing mushrooms within the grove and rescue the lost adventurers. If you like dice deciding your fate, dungeon crawling, and fungus-based horror, this is the game for you. This is a grim fantasy. Characters can - and do - die often. No one is invincible. The game swings. Risk and reward are part of the wild ride. ABOUT THE GAME: A one-shot dungeon crawl (which will most likely run over and we can continue) hosted on Foundry and video (or just audio) chat on Discord. Experienced or new players welcome, though this is a level 1 adventure. Shadowdark is a grim and challenging system where you (not your sheet) are your character's saving grace. It's simple, easy to learn, and fun! ABOUT LAWFUL CHERRY: A dutiful storyteller who offers reliable, paid one-shots and campaigns, with a high focus on horror and immersion. His games typically include eerie ambient music, tense lighting, and engaging storytelling.

About me

A reliable and cinematically-driven DM with over 20 years experience GMing. I'm very passionate about storytelling, and emphatically enjoy the in-character, collaborative experience of doing so. I also used to act, so Roleplaying is encouraged at my tables. (Yes, I do voices) My (typically homebrewed) campaigns have a more modern take, with an overarching story and a memorable villain. And while my games usually carry dark / horror tones, my endgame is to make sure everyone's comfortable. I make an effort to keep things PG-13. I love the immersion that Foundry provides, so you can expect better music / cooler maps / minis from my games. I've been running games for 20 years, and have recently fallen in love with the Shadowdark system. So risk & reward is very prominent at my table. What I don't tolerate: -Sexual content (as mentioned, I typically run PG-13ish) -Disrespect / adversarial attitude toward other players or myself. - Real world politics
