🐦Cloak & Talon: A Learn-to-Play Political Intrigue Campaign!
Beginner-friendly high-fantasy campaign with exploration, roleplay, combat, and long-term character arcs across a world of intrigue and adventure.
About the adventure
This is a beginner-friendly, open-world campaign set in a high-fantasy world of political intrigue, fractured alliances, and character-driven plots. There is an even balance of exploration, combat, and roleplay, as well as occasional text roleplay between sessions. You are new recruits to one of the three major adventuring guilds. The Guild of the Talon. You will accept quests and travel around the world to places such as the industrializing Free City of Mardek, the militaristic Dahnite Protectorate, and the swashbuckling Kondorian Empire. Enjoy following your character and party over a long course of time, and being able to pursue character goals and projects over downtime and time-skips.

About me
I am 23 years old, I've been DMing for 9 years. I grew up roleplaying on Roblox until I learned there were tabletop games all about roleplay! I studied Global Politics, which is reflected in my world and campaigns. If you like factions, politics, and interactions between unique societies, my games may be right for you! Community and inclusion are most important to me. My catchphrase is "Maybe the real _____ is the friends we made along the way"

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Inclusive
Creativity
World Builder
Tyler is a great dungeon master. He keeps the session pace steady, always incorporates plenty for each player character in terms of rp and mechanical interaction, and never fails to make the play space feel safe and inviting. He tells enthralling stories and wants everybody to have fun.
I've played multiple campaigns with Tyler in the past, and his dedication to worldbuilding and player agency is really fantastic. I'm also a GM, and I always appreciate the thought and effort that he puts in to the interesting locales and people in his campaigns while making player decisions, whether successes or failures, feel weighty and like they have a concrete effect on the world. I think Tyler's GM style is great for beginners and experienced players alike, and his supportive method of storytelling is sure to make any game with him an excellent and memorable time.
Strengths: Tyler is excellent at creating games that allow for any sort of player. He regularly ensures that players are safe and comfortable with the games he runs. Additionally, Tyler is excellent at creating worlds. Even when I am not playing in games with him, I like to check in from time to time just to hear about how he has developed his worlds and the political intrigue happening within. Tyler's greatest strength is his willingness to change and make adjustments. Tyler is very open to feedback and any time a player has had an issue with a ruling he made, he has always been willing to discuss his own reasoning and come to a compromise as needed. Weaknesses: Due to Tyler's extensive world-building, it is apparent that he knows most if not all ways that a campaign or plotline will end. This is usually a good thing because he is prepared for all situations, but it can sometimes feel like your individual character may not have agency or impact on the world at large. However, the few times this has happened, I have been able to resolve any issues by discussing it with Tyler. tl;dr Strengths: Inclusive, Large Worldbuilder, Accepts feedback and criticism well Weaknesses: Sometimes railroads plotlines or NPCs
I have been involved with several games run by Tyler, from one shots to a fully finished campaign. Most notably, he is the kind of Dungeon Master to never say no to player creativity, he will allow them to attempt their ingenious (or stupid) ideas and face the consequences. World building is also one of his strongest suits. He has an incredibly fleshed out world, from named NPCs to specific locations. Another trait that makes him a great dungeon master is that he is very receptive to feedback and constructive criticism, and asks for it at the end of each session. I would absolutely recommend Tyler as a DM.
Character creation
Creating your character
The Second Half of Session Zero will be character creation. We can help walk you through the process. If you join later in the campaign, we can schedule a time before the next session. For experienced players: All D&D content is allowed, including Blood Hunter. UA is mostly not allowed. Homebrew content is up to DM discretion. Level 1, Roll 3 Arrays, and choose one. You may start with a magic item or ability that fits into your backstory. You may also have NPC connections

How Tylernal creates a safe table
My table is a safe space and It is important to me that everyone feels comfortable. I am very feedback-oriented and will make use of Stars and Wishes following each session as well as other Safety Tools. I highly value transparent communication between players & DM. The reason I love D&D so much is that it is both a safe space and community for me.
