Adventures in Arkham- Call of Cthulhu
Explore the slimy underbelly of 1920s Arkham, Mass, a city with a dark and disturbing history.
About the adventure
This is a sandbox adventure that will feature many short scenarios of ordinary people stumbling into extraordinary and horrific circumstances. Your characters may come from a variety of backgrounds but they all share one thing- the apartment building they live in. So join for a few sessions or stick it out for the long haul and welcome to Arkham and Terrace Building Apartments.

About me
I'm a geeky gamer mom who loves a good story. I run wholesome, accessible, PG-13 games from a variety of systems. I prefer fantasy and horror settings and love to run a good mystery or heist. Players under 18 are permitted at my tables if an adult family member is also playing and the rest of the table agrees. Please talk to me ahead of time about this. I am committed to making my games accessible! Please let me know what your needs are and I will do my very best to accommodate them.

(Minor Spoilers) During our last session we kidnaped some sort of winged devil creature using a towel soaked in the tears of a beholder. (We created anti magic chloroform?) Then though a mission impossible style ruse, we slowly poisoned a hag (or maybe a demon?) with mushroom spores until she failed enough saves to become a myconid (maybe?). I've been playing this campaign for six months or so and every other session with Morningbird is this entertaining and creative. We are having so much fun and I would highly recommend her services!
You MUST join one of Morningbird's sessions! Everyone has such a fun and great time every session. She is very knowledgeable and has invested in plenty in resources which keeps the game running smoothly. Always there to help out newbies if needed and happy to let the story develop by the characters, or push things along as required. Highly recommended!
Robin is great at balancing the game, both for the players (beginners or experienced) and for the characters (we have level 9 characters running a "level 1-8" adventure and it is hard!). She's also excellent at rolling with the players, creating a story that we feel involved in even when we sometimes go off in a weird direction. I would highly recommend her!
Character creation
Creating your character
We will use point buy for character creation and our characters will be built in Foundry using the character creation wizard. Players may also choose to submit characters built with Point Buy at The Dhole's House. Archetypes and relationships may be discussed in Discord before actual mechanical building begins.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a microphone but you don't need a camera. Foundry runs in your browser but doesn't seem to like Safari. Chrome or Edge seem to work best. You can create your classic 1920s characters in Foundry or in www.dholeshouse.org/ or just send me a PDF at least 48 hours in advance. You will receive a Discord invite in your prep materials once you sign up for the game. Join the Discord as soon as possible so plotting can begin.
What Morningbird brings to the table
I will be using my Foundry Virtual Table Top to run the game with music, sound, and art as well as the built in dice roller and character sheets.
Homebrew rules
We are using Call of Cthulhu 7e rules in the 1920s setting.

Safety
How Morningbird creates a safe table
Call of Cthulhu is a cosmic horror game that features a sanity mechanic and many gruesome ways to die or become disabled. Healing is not quick and easy. Mental and physical injuries can result in permanent changes to your character. Specific content warnings will be given at the beginning of each new story arc. We will discuss lines and veils in session 0 and revisit them periodically. They will be posted on the Discord for viewing. The Foundry VTT features built-in anonymous safety tools that you can use to stop, fade to black, or fast forward through scenes. Sessions are three hours long and I like to stop on time so people can manage their schedules. We will take a 10 minute break at the 1.5 mark (remind me if I forget) and I will stick around after quitting time to chat and decompress if you like.
