About me
I've been playing/DMing Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition since 2015, and have gained experience with DnD 3.5, World of Darkness, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Dread. I DM a streamed game on Twitch on Wednesdays, play in a YouTube Series, and have Co-written adventures for a Podcast.

Knows the Rules
This was an amazing learning experience, as a new DND player I was definitely nervous on messing up or not knowing what to do but the GM made is very easy to understand. I was able to show my creativity without being put down. If any new DND player is looking for a easy going, understanding, and most importantly FUN! GM I definitely would recommend
My wife and I had a great time navigating the Bootcamp and learning D&D with Wartornknight, so much so that we have already scheduled another session with some friends next weekend. The adventure began in an unexpected way, and we were able to explore our surroundings and try various things out in combat, while he provided guidance and introduced additional concepts organically as the opportunity/need arose. In addition to a much greater understanding of game mechanics, we also learned a great deal about exploring and interacting with other players and believe he is an excellent choice of DM.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will happen during this session before play. Players can use Standard Array, Point Buy, or Rolling for Stats (using 4d6, dropping lowest). Players will be level 1. Dndbeyond will be available, but if you wish to use another form for your Character Sheet, that is absolutely ok so long as it's shared with the DM before play. We will make characters using the 2014 Player's Handbook options only as this is a learning session and I do not wish to overwhelm a new player with too many options.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Webcam is optional (mine will be on or off upon request). Microphone necessary (some people talking and some people texting will slow a lot of things down). I encourage new players to read the rules on their own, but it is not mandatory. If you have any questions on rules, please let me know.
What Wartornknight brings to the table
I will have a Dndbeyond campaign to allow sharing of basic rules, we will use owlbear rodeo for combat with basic tokens. Character voices are optional, but encouraged. I use character voices normally for NPCs, but will refrain if this makes anyone uncomfortable. I am a very avid subscriber to the Rule of Cool, but as this is a learning session for beginners, I will always clarify if something is not Rules as Written so you can know what to expect from other DMs at other tables.
Homebrew rules
Potions: Drink as an action to heal max roll, drink as a bonus action to roll for healing. Bonus Action Spells:If you cast a spell using your bonus action, you may still cast spells with your action/action surge/reaction on your turn as well.

How Wartornknight creates a safe table
An RPG Consent form will be sent to players at the beginning of play before character creation. A short session 0 will occur before play as well to openly discuss everyone's expectations from the game. Breaks can be taken as needed. Time at the end of play will be allotted to debrief and discuss everyone's reactions to the game.
