About Nick (Aurelius)
I've been a gamer for years and love the classics like Skyrim, Fallout, Balder's Gate and the Witcher. What I love about TTRPSs is that you can do almost anything where video games only allow what the developers intended. I an avid reader of D&D books and youtube content. I also enjoy watching actual plays from the folks at Critical Role. My favorite parts of the game are shared storytelling, role playing, tactical combat and exploring. I hope to help more people feel confident playing D&D (especially new and first time players).

I became a GM because
I started hosting games as a way to share something I love. For me the bet parts of D&D combine shared storytelling, role play, tactical combat while exploring with friends around the table. I especially enjoy teaching and running games for new players.
When I'm not running games I'm...
I am working on building regional and combat maps for my games. I'm reading the books from the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I also hang out with my bernadoodle Harper and take her on walks.
How Nick (Aurelius) runs games
I love crunchy tactical combat, role playing and shared storytelling. I try to create an environment with no ego, where players feel safe asking questions. I like all of the players to feel engaged in the game. I am starting to build my own maps and am experimenting with different character voices.

I prep by
Reading and writing notes for the adventure. I like to bring player backstories into the game when it makes sense. I'll talk to players individually to get more information and make them feel comfortable at the table. I also spend hours building maps for the games I run.
Nick (Aurelius)'s ideal table
I try to create a welcoming, collaborative space where players of all experience levels can jump in and have fun. I love blending storytelling with tactical combat, giving players meaningful choices that shape the world around them. I try not to take things too seriously and enjoy it when players role play with each other. Players who enjoy a balance of exploration, crunchy combat and character-driven stories should feel right at home. I create space for teamwork and roleplaying—introverts and newcomers are just as welcome as seasoned role players. A good session is when everyone is engaged and wants to return for the next adventure.
