Banishment and Blood - The Exiles of Enkarabis

Banishment and Blood - The Exiles of Enkarabis

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Welcome to Enkarabis and the wastelands that surround it. The city of Enkarabis looms like a dark jewel in the wastelands, its air thick with dust and its streets ruled by an intricate web of guilds. Each faction claws for power, maintaining a precarious balance over a city built on crime, punishment, and fear. Yet, within the towering walls, Enkarabis remains a haven compared to the desolate wastelands beyond—a harsh, unforgiving expanse where only the cunning and the strong survive. Exile here is a death sentence for most, but a few dare to dream of escape. Some try scaling the black mountains or braving the wastelands in search of the sea. Others turn to forbidden magic, seeking portals to realms beyond this plane. Yet every attempt ends the same way: in failure, and often death. Now, it’s your turn to face the wasteland’s merciless grip. Will you fight to carve out a life amidst the chaos of Enkarabis, master the wilds of the wasteland, or risk everything to return to the life you once knew? Your fate is in your hands. This adventure takes place in my homebrew world, Devlosest, where the city of Enkarabis exists in a strange liminal space on the Material Plane—connected to it yet severed from its broader realms. Here, devils and angels clash in frequent but restrained battles, their rivalry overshadowed by a far greater threat that neither can afford to ignore. Your character has been sentenced to exile in this harsh land for a crime—whether real, misunderstood, or entirely fabricated. Perhaps your actions were unlawful to others but just in your eyes. Regardless of the truth, your punishment is absolute: banishment with no chance of return. Or so they say. Will you defy the odds? Challenge fate? Discover the truth about this strange realm and the forces that govern it? This D&D 2024 adventure uses my own original setting and utilizes content from the new 2024 PHB, DMG and MM. Prepare to explore, survive, and make choices that will shape your destiny. Since this is a homebrew world, your characters will have a considerable amount of agency afforded to them. Your choices will not only shape the adventure but build it forwards. Session plans will be made that reflect character choices in previous sessions. What guild they decide to join if any, or make an enemy of? Who they decide to help or hinder?
