These are the Voyages
In the aftermath of the Dominion War, the Federation looks to the future - and you are the first new class of officers in this generation.
About the adventure
These are the voyages of the starship... well, that's up to you, isn't it? Are you a crew of newly graduated cadets, doing milk-runs in an old Miranda class? Or are you a veteran crew of old soldiers, recovering from the Dominion War? Maybe you're a group of Starfleet rejects, consigned to some barely held together tub doing second contact missions and double-checking century-old surveys. Whatever you choose, your adventures will be yours to share with your crewmates at this table - the many problems you'll encounter will be overcome with teamwork and ingenuity. Not every issue can be overcome with a phaser, your wits and your empathy will serve you well. Step into the uniform of a Starfleet officer, and get ready to Boldly go... or, perhaps just go. I look forwards to seeing what your voyages look like!

About me
Hey, I'm Jaycorn (He/Him), and it would be my absolute pleasure to bring you on an adventure where the worlds are intricate, the characters are vibrant, and the players are at the heart of the story. I'm just a TTRPG nut! I've been playing them since I was - well for the last two decades anyhow - and I've been running games for most of that. It didn't matter if it was Rifts, or D&D, or Mutants and Masterminds; I loved telling stories with the people at the table with me - and I'd love to keep doing that for as long as I can! Whether you're new to the game or a veteran player, I'm all about creating a space where everyone feels welcome and engaged. Crafting worlds and stories that resonate with each player is my jam, and I believe that storytelling is right up there with Chronomancy in terms of being the most powerful magic of all! So, ready to dive into a world where each choice leads to new adventures, and every session is a chance to make lasting memories? Grab your dice, and let's start this journey together!

Creativity
Jay was my first DM and I will always and forever love playing with him. His games started my love for DnD, I have played for over 2 years with him in multiple sessions. He is creative, warm and just so wonderful to play with. I am always in awe of how much care he puts into his sessions, whether it is homebrew stories or existing storylines. Jay will bring a ton of personalized content for each player, both in the world's storytelling as well as with images, music, sounds and more. Jay is the perfect DM for both new players and experienced ones. He allows for plenty of player creativity, will do a beautiful job in weaving personal story with the overall story and create some of the most memorable moments I have ever had in any game. He has deep knowledge of DnD rules and his enormous and complex, rich worlds. I have never seen him forget a single detail or character, even after years. At the same time, Jay will never miss a beat in finding a way to adjust and bend the rules to accommodate the player story without it ever feeling cheap. His style of working with his players is consistent, creative and collaborative. Jay is a DM I would play with any day, any time, in any setting and in any system. Anyone who gets a chance to play with him is more than lucky and I hope many more people experience that joy.
Makes sure everyone gets to play and everyone respects each others boundaries. Jay easily picks up what you are saying or trying to do and plays into that, making for fun gameplay and interactions. Unique npc's, do whatever you want and casually tries to get players to get the story going (it was session 1 and it turned into a shopping session without the entire party meeting yet xD)

Creating your character
We will be using fillable PDF for our character sheets, taken from the following website: https://sta.bcholmes.org
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a Discord login, and a microphone, as well as a device strong enough to at least view streamed video (the typical cell phone is strong enough to accomplish this). Any software needed will either be provided by me, or I will be able to help players aquire them.
What Jaycorn brings to the table
I will be attempting to make maps using the VTT program Talespire, available on Steam for free. Any additional visuals required will be provided via a private Discord room that players will be invited to. Ambient music and soundscapes are a pivotal part of the play experience, and I utilize an array of character voices to help immerse the players. Star Trek Adventures is a game made to be cinematic and empowering, so expect the play to lean into that. We're shaping a story together!

Safety
How Jaycorn creates a safe table
We will have a shared Lines and Veils document where players will add in their preferences - a method that will be discussed in our Session 0, along with gameplay styles, story content, and expectations for the game overall. Safety tools can be used verbally, visually (if we decide to use cameras), or privately over Discord. After each session, players will be encouraged to discuss how they felt about the session, and anything they'd like to change in the future.
