I was accepted to the game, asked a bunch of questions about the vibe and tone of the party so I could match it. Played one game where I spent 50% of the time waiting to join the party, and four days later was informed hat the rest of the players had changed their mind about adding a 5th player. Host did not refund the session.
The GM was polite and pleasant, but overall, the game felt unprepared and lacked cohesion. The story was disjointed, and much of the plot progression seemed to rely on the players to carry the narrative without much structure or guidance. Additionally, managing the game across two different VTTs added unnecessary confusion and complexity. The game was advertised as having Studio Ghibli-inspired themes, but I didn’t get that aesthetic or tone from the descriptions, visuals, or overall atmosphere. The one combat encounter we played felt unbalanced, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel engaged enough to continue. While the GM was friendly, the execution of the game left a lot to be desired.
Very fun DM. He helps create a laid back atmosphere for the players which I feel helps players feel more comfortable with doing roleplay. He's also extremely knowledgeable about the rules and roll20/dnd beyond platform, which helps make a smooth process when playing and doing combat. Highly recommend for first times and veterans alike.
