About the adventure

✨Hello everyone and welcome to the wonderful new world of Deltora. A brave new frontier where man and monster are at odds, Demon Lords have conquered different continents, the rumors are spreading of the Collective Grace's corruption. A Holy Church boasting the creation of heroes. Will you explore some of these instances or will your party choose to be some of the first to sign up for all manner of new guilds springing up across The Holy Empire? That's right the choice of what your group does is entirely in your party's hands. The realm will react accordingly.✨ 🛠️Now to the brass tax or tacks or something to that nature. This world is homebrew. I mean homebrew, homebrew, I have written new lore for how the world was created and what has transpired since. New gods and Devils/Demon Lords. I have even taken the monsters and revamped them to fit better narratives. So whatever previous knowledge you have besides the core mechanics of how D&D runs (Intivative, modifiers, dice rolls, what stealth means, etc) then throw it out. I look to challenge and have my players engaged. I want to get reactions from the group (it tells me I'm doing something right).🛠️ ⚔️The DMing style of the game. I do my best to balance every aspect I can around the group's composition. So if I notice low-level monsters just aren't challenging you guys enough, I'll do what I can to either increase their lethality or pit you guys against more challenging monsters. There will be easy fights and there will be life-or-death fights. I try to introduce a 50/50 split on roleplay to combat but if I find the party favors combat then it might go 60/40 in favor of combat and visa versa for roleplay. The narrative I try to offer keeps the players guessing and from the reactions I've received, my players find out there is a lot more than meets the eye, to say the least. I can be forgiving, I can also be ruthless and really it all depends on how you ask me to treat your character. I do play with the rule of cool when it fits but still adhere to most of the base game mechanics. Like you can't one shoot a boss but you can do a really cool finishing move or what I call "make a Deal with the DM". You can ask more about that later.⚔️

About me

Hello everyone this isn't my first rodeo with DMing (Dungeon Mastering) or however that should be said. I have been doing this for quite a few years now and have had a lot of fun with it. All prior players mostly had a blast with all my twists and turns and the fluid motions of my impromptu moments. I am a fun easy-going DM for the most part looking to engage my players in an entertaining narrative while also making sure their combat skills don't get rusty. I usually run the rule of cool and allow my players to dictate what type of game they want. I always encourage new players to D&D to also jump in. If you are a new player feel free to reach out, because I give free tutorial one-on-one sessions to get you ready for the first sessions.

Character creation
Creating your character

Characters will be created on DnDBeyond and I will personally transfer each of them to our VTT where you will be able to alter and edit your character sheet there. Our session zero will be character Q&A/ Creation. Feel free to reach out before session zero with questions.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Webcam is optional, However a Mic is required as we do voice chat. Next you will need a discord account, a forgevtt account, and a dndbeyond account. I can provide links and walkthroughs for any of those should they be needed.

What The Chronicler brings to the table

I will provide all the platforms we will be using and as much 5e content as possible—custom visuals and maps to help with placement and narrative association.

Safety
How The Chronicler creates a safe table

There are a multitude of things that can be upsetting or triggering to individuals and I will sit down with each and every one of my players at their discretion and make sure I have a good understanding of them as a person but also that I know how to alter the game so it doesn't cause any reason for concern.
