About me

Playing and DMing since 2nd Edition. I love world building and a table that enjoys a laugh, even if the game is dark (maybe especially if the game is dark).

I'm in one of Arron's Hearts of Ravensdale (Legend in the Mist) campaigns and it's a hoot. He has taught each of us how to play this new system with patience and grace. He has brought wonderful NPCs to life with voices and characterizations, and it's been some of the best and most engaging RP that I've done in a live game in 40 years of playing TTRPGs. I've described the game as 'my favorite show.' I can't wait to see what we get up to next.

David ran a great game! An immersive oldschool romp with modern production value! Fun fights and well-chosen homebrew mechanics (I'm looking at you, Danger Dice). And a glimpse into D&D history as well! Something for everyone at his table, for sure. I've signed up for a campaign!

Chris ran a brisk and exciting heist one-shot. Great characterizations, lots of twists and turns. Highly recommended!

I attended Frederick's webinar "What is Foundry VTT? Should I be using it for my game?" I am already using Foundry and I found it very useful. It was well-scaffolded (which I saw someone else noted as well) and well-paced with clear objectives, examples, and opportunities to ask questions. A session packed full of great Foundry info - if you're considering Foundry or new to Foundry, I recommend it.

Boyd ran an incredible Star Wars romp complete with blasters and stormtroopers, a seedy cantina and a lightsaber, even "a bad feeling about this" and a jump to hyperspace to end the adventure. He's got a great sense of pacing and played off of our ideas seamlessly. It was my first time playing the Genesys system (which is awesome), and he made it all very approachable and fun. Totally recommended.
