About GM Arron
Ever since I was a child, I‘ve always liked acting, making up stories, and playing make-believe. I attended drama classes and got cast in school plays. The usual. Eventually, I grew up and took this love of the arts all the way to university, where I studied, you guessed it, Drama. It was also there that I discovered a little game called DnD, a game which combined my love of games and acting into one truly intoxicating pastime. I played a frightened warrior, a tone deaf bard, and many more intriguing characters. At one point, I had no GM to run games for me, so I tried the GM hat on for size and realised, after much fine-tuning, that I loved making the games more than I loved playing them. Suddenly, I could not only play one character, but a whole world. I loved providing my friends with eccentric characters to converse with and thrilling situations to work through, and so my time as a forever GM began. And it has continued till this very day. As well as playing DnD and other TTRPGs, I also study script writing and linguistics. I love studying complex systems like grammar and story structure. By day, I am actually an English teacher, so I spend most days talking to people all over the world, explaining difficult grammar to them with patience and enthusiasm, a skill I’m sure I picked up from somewhere(:

I became a GM because
I pure and simple adore telling stories. Whether it's a hopeful high fantasy where courage and honnour win out against dreadful odds, or a disparring narative which pushes it's inhabitants past their breaking point and further, the perenial rush of a tale well told never ceases to make me smile.
When I'm not running games I'm...
writing short stories, editing screenplays, studying other languages. I also try to stay active, playing tennis and other sports. I especially love taking long walks around my city. It grants the perfect opportunity to space out and think up new fantasy worlds with (I hope) fancinating concepts.
How GM Arron runs games
As a GM, I really focus on my players and their characters. I have met other GMs who focus on the numbers and cool abilities, which I also think are neat. But I have to say that watching my players face adversities and forge their flawed characters into heroes to overcome them... ahh, there is nothing else like it-- and no other piece of art in the world like collaborative storytelling, that's for sure. When I GM, I’m always friendly and social, but above all, I am encouraging, all the time. I encourage my players to take the reins and dive into the story, rewarding player agency with exciting improvisation and always providing tantalising scenes in which players can find their characters and put them on display. The game truly is at its best when the bones of the story are clear and the players know what is at stake (if they didn’t, how would they be able to make meaningful decisions?) This clear presentation of tangible story beats comes easily to me since I also did a master's in script writing and like to use my studies of story structure liberally when I plot enticing situations for my players to pick up, or walk right past. Lastly, although I have highlighted the more fun-loving, carefree aspects of my GMing style, I can also throwdown in the rulings department, spending many hours before I play a system brushing up on its rules in order to make actual play less “hold on a moment while I look that up,” and more “sure you can do that, then what?”

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
I grew up on Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, James Cameron and Christopher Nolan which is good, as they all know how to tell a good story, but directors like Greta Gerwig, Luca Guadagnino, Spike Joze, and many more trully unique creators have influenced me greatly, and continue to do so.
My games focus on...
You. The fantastical world we bring to life and litter with captivating characters and absorbing history will always be a major drawing point for my games, but inside of that world, your characters will always have the spotlight, and we will collaborate to build moving stories around your character.
GM Arron's ideal table
My table is a place of encouragement, respect, love and collaboration. In such a place, there is no room for misogyny, racism, bigotry or any other kind of hatred and ignorance. We're here to tell stories, but we're also here to hear them, and from every kind of person, because our differences are what make us so goshdarn beautiful and bewitching. I try very hard to encourage my players not only to play together but also to create a little community. The first step in any really good story is to make the audience care about your characters, and at my table (if I do my job right), you'll care just as much about your teammate's character as you do about your own.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Meaningful, character-driven stories, actions having consequences, fun and fully realised npcs, firm direction from a GM who knows the difference betwen actual play and empty time, original and enticing situations you won't want to skip past-- but you can -- and gripping fantasy settings.
I love it when a player
makes a character driven choice instead of a calculation. This shows me that I am doing my job, providing situation where the players can make meaningful choices that let them live through their characters, which is, in my opinion, the whole reason we play these games.(Also the combat is preety fun)
