Free League’s Blade Runner RPG is a masterclass in cinematic storytelling. Designed for players who crave character-driven drama, tense investigations, and heavy atmosphere, it perfectly captures the look, feel, and emotional weight of the Blade Runner universe. At its core, Blade Runner is not a combat-heavy game. You won’t find dungeon crawls or power fantasy here. Instead, you’ll step into the rain-soaked streets of Los Angeles, 2037–2039, where every clue matters and every choice carries weight. You’ll navigate personal relationships, corporate manipulation, and the impossible moral questions that define the franchise: What does it mean to be human? The system itself is based on Free League’s award-winning Year Zero Engine, streamlined for investigation and roleplay. Players roll a small pool of dice and push their luck when the stakes are high. The rules are easy to learn but still deliver tension in all the right places—whether you’re chasing down a lead, negotiating with a suspect, or drawing your weapon when words fail. Best of all, the game’s tone and pacing are left in the hands of the GM and players. Whether played live or in a Play-by-Post format, Blade Runner RPG shines when players lean into the noir, embrace character flaws, and explore the haunting beauty of a future that feels all too real. If you love mystery, moral ambiguity, and cinematic storytelling, Blade Runner RPG is one of the best narrative systems on the market today. I have been running this game for a year, and it is pretty intense, fully carries the thematic weight of Bladerunner's both films. Highly recommended.
As an ongoing Star Trek Adventures GM I really respect the chance that Dane is giving me to portray the role of the Captain of the USS Saber in his own Star Trek Adventures campaign on SPG. He's a really good storyteller with a gift for plotting and comedic scenes as well as player agency and how the characters complete any given scenario/mission.
Nicely told scenarios. Sadly my schedule no longer supports the game, but Ben was a great Cyberpunk GM, making up special NPCs for my character, dynamically. No negative issues, and many positive ones. Would recommend Ben as an inclusive GM great for beginners, with a relaxed easy narrative style.
This Dm's energy is non-stop. No dead air, as he moves the plot ever forward, based upon player choices. I joined his game to get some foundry tips, and liked his NPCs so much, and voice talents, that I signed on for a regular paid game that is a campaign for 5e adventures in the underdark. He taught me the basics of Foundry VTT in about 45 minutes as we were playing through a new player to D&D 5e mini-adventure.
