I've joined the one-shot, and we loved it so much that we've asked to turn it into a campaign! What could be a better compliment for the DM? Sonder gave a smooth introduction and a thorough explanation of the rules and safety tools. She was well-prepared and patient with our questions. This was so good that it made me think that if I wanted to introduce my favorite TTRPG to inexperienced friends, Sonder's games would be a great pick. Sonder allows and encourages creativity and masterfully handles all the shenanigans and nonsense we throw in the story. Sonder is really good at improvising, picking up the NPC players would randomly introduce because it fits the story, and masterfully navigating unexpected turnarounds.

I've joined the ongoing campaign, and Roboto was very accommodating and helpful with understanding the rules, building the character, and integrating into the story and the world. He's been thoughtful, made sure everyone feels safe and comfortable at the table and even reached out with a follow-up after establishing the safety tools to align with the understanding, which I really appreciate. Throughout the gameplay, he asked for feedback and listened, providing the experience and the story we all enjoyed. So far, it was one of the best City of Mist experiences in the SPG.

I’ve played many Masks games and can’t get enough - it’s my favorite system! It’s incredibly easy to learn and a blast to play. With just two pages of basic moves and mechanics, plus two pages for your playbook, you have everything you need to jump right in. The system encourages you to focus on the story first and foremost, letting your character’s actions drive the game rather than worrying about which move to use. The mechanics respond to the narrative, not the other way around, making the story feel natural and immersive. Like most Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) games, Masks embraces the principle of “play to find out.” You collaborate with the other players and the GM to explore how young heroes grow, change, and define themselves. The story often takes unexpected turns, creating dynamic and exciting gameplay. You never have to worry about failing or succeeding rolls - every result moves the story forward in a meaningful way. Plus, failures grant experience, reinforcing the idea that your character learns and evolves through their struggles. One of my favorite mechanics in this game is Labels - a flexible take on stats that constantly shift based on how your character sees themselves and how others perceive them. This fluidity makes character development feel organic and deeply tied to the story. If you haven’t tried Masks yet, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the best narrative-driven RPGs out there!

Dan created an immersive world that feels alive and encourages interaction and exploration. Each NPC has a unique personality, the storytelling is excellent, and the mysteries are intriguing. He sets the mood for each session, which makes me eagerly look forward to them. If you're up for great storytelling, a supportive yes-anding approach, and masterful improvisation, you've found your DM!

I’ve joined the Masks campaign and am having a lot of fun playing. Travis is an excellent DM with great storytelling skills. He inspires creativity and ensures the smooth involvement of every player. He knows the rules well and even introduced some adjustments to make the game even more fun. I anticipate each session and look forward to experiencing where the story will take our characters.
