How Alain, aka RPG Unc runs games

I'm a GM who loves collaborating with players to build worlds we all want to play in together, and to tell stories we all want to be a part of. (NPCs, locations, and other details of a homebrew world are as much in my players hands as my own. I favour a balance of roleplay for story immersion, action/challenge to reinforce the stakes, and exploration to broaden the world. I work with players to craft the best possible experience for the group. I use the Consent Checklists to establish player boundaries at the table. Player comfort and safety are paramount, communication and consent are key.

My games focus on...

Individual Player Characters finding meaning while accomplishing shared group objectives. (Eg: regain lost memories as you take back the land in the name of vampire-kind; save as many lives as you can and escape the city surrounded by a Blob of Annihilation.)

Rules are...

Hard to remember sometimes! I try my best to log it all in the dome, but when I forget (and I will), I just make as fair a call as I can in the moment and look it up a bit later. Never let a game rule get in the way of a good story.

When it comes to voices

I have a well of impressions to pull from, and a mild stutter. So expect all my NPC’s to be dynamic and alive… and to maybe have a stutter, too! 😁
