How Aaron runs games

I like to setup the world to enable my players to tell the stories of their characters through roleplay and tactical combat. I also like to implement intricate puzzles to challenge my players problem solving skills. I may try to do unique character voices however they will all inevitably turn into an old southern person.

I once ran a session in which all my players died 6 minutes in by trying to bribe a Russian mobster with a parrot, so I then improvised a fully new session which led to the players escaping from the underworld and returning to the world above.

Rules are there to be guidelines, if they get in the way of fun they should be circumvented.

I think metagaming...

I think metagaming has a time and place but should be limited, I think it's better to try and create scenes in character which allow players to have the conversations they want to have.

I think min/maxing...

I think min/maxing is perfectly fine, players should be able to play characters anyway they want and it's my job to make sure that everything is fun and balanced.
