About Alchemedian
Hey, I am the Alchemedian, i've been playing and DM'ing for around thirty years, a whole bunch of systems, a whole bunch of games. I love bringing characters and NPC's to life, and encouraging others to do the same. I'm descriptive with my world, my in-game politics (i'd rather leave real world politics far away from my games, please), and my combat. I use a lot of humour as well, and try not to take my games too seriously, while still being immersive and realistic, think part Excalibur part Monty Pythons Holy Grail, and you probably get Discworld, which... yeah, more Discworld. I also work with players to create backstories together that grow the characters organically, and use their backstories to build any central story around.

How Alchemedian runs games
it depends a little on the game/system, i generally do lots of politicking and roleplay heavy stories, and use many techniques to help players roleplay more and find their characters, i prefer to keep combat minimal in certain campaigns, but i am open and able if players want more combat heavy and/or tactical games. I like building characters backstories with players, and doing some one-on-one roleplay with each as part of character creation, and using their stories to form the central plot to help keep the players and characters invested in what happens. There may be puzzles, mysteries, traps, and emotional moments, depending on the game and the players. There will definitely be elements of humour, world building, graphic descriptions, and NPC's who (i have been told, and like to think) are unique, memorable, believable, and fun to interact with, and when using settings with pre-established characters (IE Luke Skywalker in Star Wars) i try to portray them as accurately as i can. I tend towards rule of cool over RAW, and am always happy to workshop homebrew items, spells, abilities, etc... with players.

I once ran a session...
where a girl got to say goodbye to her father before he went off to a battle where they faced certain defeat. I didn't know at the time, but her father irl was a soldier, and she never got to say goodbye to him irl. After the session she spoke to me about how it felt like she was able to finally.
