About Jay L
I've been playing and DMing/GMing since middle school in the late 80s, and find great fun in rpgs! I have a ridiculously large game collection and love to write up new characters and scenarios that may never be played. At our table, the idea is we're all here to make up a fun story together, connect socially, and entertain each other. My job is to set a scene, give you story hooks, and act out all the fun out challenging stuff you encounter along the way. I want the table to be a place to have fun; And fun can't exist without comfort. I expect players to treat each other with respect and kindness, and to talk to me if anyone - including me - challenges your comfort, so we can address that, skip a scene if necessary, confirm our needs, and move on. Everybody should be able to leave the table with a genuine smile. Who am I? I'm a single parent (divorced) in Minneapolis, a jazz singer, a social justice leftist, and a lover of stories! I've been a nerd ever since I picked up The Hobbit in grade school, and I love quality time with fellow nerds!

How Jay L runs games
I like to have a good Session 0 chat, to feel it what we ask wasn't from a game and help me learn what makes a game most fun for you. In-game, I'm fun-first, story-second, rules 3rd. That doesn't mean rules are ignored though, and I'm happy to hear questions when rules seem to go a way you didn't expect. We can chat together to work out concerns, either privately or as a group. I do enjoy dropping characters into unexpected situations, and I do draw from resources outside a game's own canon - I enjoy a story that unfolds or turns in ways none of us expect. And yes, that means if the party runs off to do something I hadn't planned, I'm ready and excited to think on my feet!
