StartPlaying Running Charity Games For IllumiNative All Throughout November

We at StartPlaying are excited to announce our charity partnership for November 2023! This month’s event will benefit the Native woman-led racial and social justice organization IllumiNative. 

Throughout all of November, our GMs will be running sessions where 100% of the proceeds go to benefit IllumiNative. Then, once $1,000 is raised, StartPlaying will match and donate it. Check for active games here.

In keeping with the spirit of IllumiNative’s work, StartPlaying has also partnered with Coyote & Crow. Our GMs have worked with Akinana Circle, Coyote & Crow’s dedicated organized play team, to learn how to run the system in a thoughtful and respectful way. Look forward to seeing more Coyote & Crow games than ever before! 

IllumiNative dedicates their efforts to increasing the visibility of—and challenging the narrative about—Native peoples. Their mission is to build power for Native peoples by amplifying contemporary Native voices, stories, and issues to advance justice, equity, and self-determination. They utilize research, narrative and culture change strategies, movement-building, and organizing to disrupt the invisibility of Native peoples, re-educate Americans, and mobilize public support for key Native issues.
