Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen | War-Torn High Fantasy
War has come to Krynn as the Dragon Queen marches on Solomnia. What will you do when called upon to aid the forces of good in the War of the Lance?
About the adventure
Play in the legendary Dragonlance setting in this Shadow of the Dragon Queen campaign! Expect the classic high fantasy atmosphere of the world of Krynn as you go from village newcomer to legendary warrior during a time when gods, mortals, and dragons fight for their say in the fate of the world. 🐉Plan against the invading forces of the Red Dragon Army as they aid the Dragon Queen in her quest to conquer Krynn 🪄Explore magical and ancient sites from the rich world building of the Dragonlance setting 🤝 Forge alliances and rivalries with new and beloved characters 📖Help decide the fate of Solomnia in this prequel to the classic Dragonlance book trilogy Game Tone: This game's central theme is war, so expect gritty violence and effects of battle throughout. This high fantasy setting also features high magic, majestic knights, ancient castles, and of course terrifying dragons. As with most D&D games, moments of levity and laughter are welcome and expected, but the baseline of this game is one of tragedy and violence (and hopefully triumph!).

About me
I’m a writer, reader, and make-believer. I’ve been playing 5e for about 5 years and DMing for about 3 years. I love a game that balances RP, combat, and exploration, and I LOVE lore. The more lore the better. I usually play paladins or wizards as a player, but love my DMPCs to be bards and sorcerers. 🤷🏻 At my table, all are welcome. I love to see a table made up of people from all walks of life. I run a game inclusive for all races, genders, orientations, and identities. I love when people bring their own experiences and interests to the table, and seeing how that effects the world we are playing in is one of my favorite things. My table is based on trust, mutual respect, and a passion for communal storytelling. We each take turns contributing to the epic tale we are telling. What will you write?

Had a fantastic time in this dungeon crawl one-shot! Raine created an engaging adventure that kept our group of four adventurers on our toes from start to finish. The puzzles were cleverly designed and struck the perfect balance between challenging and solvable. They required actual teamwork and creative thinking, which made solving them feel genuinely rewarding. What really stood out was how accommodating Raine was with requests outside of the game. They were professional and helpful with any questions or needs we had, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The dungeon itself was well-crafted with good pacing between exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. Everyone in our group stayed engaged throughout the entire session. This DM clearly puts effort into their craft and it shows. Would absolutely recommend them to other players looking for a quality gaming experience.
The one-shot I played at Raine's table was absolutely amazing thanks to his passion for lore! He shared so many little details, and every tiny thread seemed like it could spin off into a totally different adventure-tangle each turn. The storytelling, worldbuilding, and characters felt so rich and vibrant. Raine did a fantastic job setting the mood with music and would lean in to the fun antics of the party. Heavily recommend, I am looking forward to his next game already!
Character creation
Creating your character
Come with a few ideas of the characters you might want to play. We will go through character creation in session 0. Any species, class, and subclass found in the 2024 core rule books, Tasha's, and Xanathar's are open to you. So are the special species (kender), subclass (lunar sorcery), and backgrounds (Mage of High Sorcery & Knight of Solomnia) that are found in the Dragonlance book. We will use DnDBeyond for our character sheets. Let me know if you have any questions!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Join my discord here: https://discord.gg/gj3BaCPfND There you will find your game chats, the link to the DnDBeyond group, and the content and boundaries checklist (please fill this out ASAP so I can properly prep for our session 0). Sessions will take place over a Discord video call.
What Raine brings to the table
I bring half a decade of experience as a DM who has played with beginner and veteran players alike. I have the 2024 core rule books, the expansion trio, and a few others that you can use as resources via DnDBeyond. I will also be using music to set the tone, as well as doing character voices and accents (you can too!). My ultimate goal is player immersion, so I will use everything I can to aid in that, including vivid descriptions, and deep lore.

How Raine creates a safe table
I use a few safety tools to ensure everyone is on the same page and having a good time. First, I'll have you fill out a content and boundaries checklist so we all know what is on or off the table. I also use a version of X cards and take a break about half way through sessions so we can check in and adjust if needed. And you can also message me or speak in-session if you need to.
