About me

I’m a disabled veteran, and I found Dungeons & Dragons during one of the hardest chapters of my life. It started as a way to escape, but quickly became something so much more. D&D helped me process trauma, reconnect with creativity, and, most importantly, build lasting friendships in a space where I felt safe and seen. Becoming a Dungeon Master wasn’t just about telling stories—it was about creating a space where others could heal, grow, and belong too. I know how powerful this game can be, especially for those who feel isolated, overwhelmed, or like they don’t quite fit in. Now, I run welcoming, beginner-friendly games that focus on collaboration, creativity, and kindness. Whether you're brand new to the game or just need a place to roll some dice and breathe for a bit—you’re welcome at my table.

Excellent teacher. Very patient, uses visual aids. Family friendly if you want to involve your children under 13. Highly recommend booking introduction session with her if you want to get the whole family into DND.

Kya is awesome. I went from basically zero knowledge to fully understanding the game. She will walk you through step by step and answer all your questions. I definitely will be joining one of her campaigns. 10/10.

Kya is a solid DM. Welcoming and knowledgeable in helping new players (like myself) begin their development into DnD. Helped walk me through the basics and get a better grasp of how the game mechanics work.

Kya is an amazing DM! She is upfront with the rules and expectations of a campaign while still letting shenanigans happen to fill out role play and keep everyone engaged. I am honored to say that I was able to get a seat at her table!

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation will depend on the level of the one-shot for that week. You’ll submit a character at the specified level for me to review before the session. If you need any help creating your character, I’m more than happy to assist—whether you’re new to D&D or just want to bounce ideas around. We’ll be using point buy for ability scores to keep things balanced and fair across the board. All characters should be created using D&D Beyond, and I’ll share access to my Master Tier content, which unlocks a wide range of official books and options for everyone in the campaign. Unless otherwise stated for a specific one-shot, all races, classes, and subclasses from official published sources on D&D Beyond are allowed. Homebrew content will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis—feel free to ask if you have something specific in mind.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

- Level appropriate character -A steady internet connection -D&D Beyond Account (https://www.dndbeyond.com/) -Discord Account (https://discord.com/) -Roll20 Account (https://roll20.net/) -Working microphone for voice chat -Working webcam (optional)

What Kya brings to the table

• 📘 D&D Beyond Access: I have a Master Tier subscription on D&D Beyond, and I will be sharing all of my unlocked content with players in the campaign. This includes access to races, classes, subclasses, spells, and more from official sourcebooks. • 🧙 Generic Tokens Provided: I’ll provide generic tokens for everyone to use during our virtual tabletop sessions. These will be functional and easy to distinguish on the map. • 🗺️ Virtual Tabletop (VTT): We’ll be using a VTT to manage maps, movement, and combat. Expect a clean and accessible layout for both tactical play and exploration. • 🔊 Voices & Atmosphere: While I may not go full-on with character voices, I do adjust tone and mannerisms to help differentiate NPCs. I also make use of ambient music and sound effects to enhance immersion during roleplay and exploration. • ⚔️ Combat Style: Combat will be tactical but beginner-friendly. I encourage strategic thinking and teamwork, but I’ll always prioritize clarity and fun over complex mechanics. • 🌟 Tone & Style: While we're sticking to RAW for this session, I always encourage creativity and player agency. If a situation calls for a little flexibility and it makes sense narratively, I’m open to discussion. Overall, my GM style is supportive, structured, and inclusive. Whether you're new to D&D or a seasoned player, my goal is to make sure everyone feels engaged, empowered, and ready to have fun.
