I’m a disabled veteran, and I found Dungeons & Dragons during one of the hardest chapters of my life. It started as a way to escape, but quickly became something so much more. D&D helped me process trauma, reconnect with creativity, and, most importantly, build lasting friendships in a space where I felt safe and seen. Becoming a Dungeon Master wasn’t just about telling stories—it was about creating a space where others could heal, grow, and belong too.
