Critical Role | Exandria: Echoes of Tomorrow| 2024 5E| Level 5
Chaos stirs in Tal’Dorei as ancient powers awaken. From war-torn ruins to rising tyrants, your choices will shape the realm or see it fall to darkness
About the adventure
The world of Exandria is a planet with clearly defined seasons and a diverse range of climates, from frigid ice caps and arid deserts to temperate forests, windswept plains, sweltering jungles, and storm-tossed oceans. It orbits a single sun and is encircled by two moons, with distant stars twinkling in the evening sky. This land is ripe for epic adventure, filled with heroes who undertake great deeds for love, justice, and often for gold and their own egos. Villains shrouded in shadow draw upon the power of cruel gods, motivated by love as well as greed in its twisted forms, along with their relentless hunger for gold, power, and glory. This campaign is perfect for players seeking an epic adventure within a high fantasy setting created by Matthew Mercer, known from Critical Role. The campaign features an overarching storyline, with each character's backstory intricately woven into the world. You will explore the vast continents, starting in Tal'Dorei, becoming involved in political intrigue, confronting familiar and new enemies, uncovering hidden treasures, and rising to face both personal and formidable demons threatening the inhabitants of Exandria. Your characters and their choices will shape the world around you. ⚔️ The campaign spans from level 1 to level 16, allowing players to experience high-level adventures and challenges in Exandria. ⚔️ Homebrew additions, including unique monsters, magical items, and boons, will introduce exciting new elements for you to explore and experience. ⚔️ A curated playlist featuring music from the acclaimed show Critical Role will enhance each session. ⚔️ We will be using the 2024 5th Edition ruleset. Join us now! I can't wait to meet you and begin telling a wonderful story together.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there! My name is Ina, and I have been a Dungeon Master for over seven years. I have run multiple one-shots and a long-term Neverwinter campaign for three years with my close friends. Currently, I am running several modules on StartPlaying, including Curse of Strahd, Out of the Abyss, and a campaign in the popular setting of Exandria. I enjoy adding my personal touch to existing modules and creating homebrew items and spells for my players. I am a big fan of Critical Role and Dimension 20, and I aspire to bring that same joy and excitement to my games. My goal is to share the beautiful world of Dungeons and Dragons with as many adventurers as possible while making a living from something I love and take great joy and pride in. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, join me on an adventure!

Knows the Rules
Ina has been an exceptional DM and her dedication to her craft and attention to storytelling continues to shine through every session in our CoS Campaign. In terms of style, Ima has a firm handle on the ruleset but definitely leans more into the Rule of Cool where appropriate to do so. This gives, in my opinion, a fantastic mix of Rules As Written and Rule Of Cool which has kept the game both challenging and well balanced across multiple character levels. Ina pays as much attention to social encounters as to combat encounters - often resulting in tense social engagements between players and NPCs or situations where players are able to bond and connect with NPCs within the game world. I could not recommend Ina enough as a DM if you have the opportunity to book a session or join a table she is running - truly fantastic player experience, long may it continue.
She lets us have great freedom in how we go about things, even if those choices lead to consequences. She's always trying to make sure everyone feels important and has time to do things they wanna do, and the combat is pretty nice, tactical and doesn't hold back, leading to the team to think and plan for combat rather then muscle through it! Overall she's a great DM all around, from characters to storytelling, it keeps you on your toes and listening in!
Character creation
Creating your character
Characters creation will happen before our first session. I will run a session 0 with the players to make sure everyone is comfortable, answer any outstanding questions and ensure that everyone has their character ready with backstories concluded before session 1. 🗡️For your Ability Scores we use Point Buy system or Standard Array. 🗡️You have access to all classes, subclasses, species, feats, backgrounds and spells in the official material published in the 2024 Players Handbook and Darrington Press (Explorers Guide to Wildemount and Tal’dorei Reborn which will be adjusted per the 2024 rules). Other materials are not permissible. 🗡️The campaign starts in the continent of Tal'dorei, 2 years after the events of Campaign 2, in 838 PD (Post Divergence). 🗡️ Once you have created your character, including the backstory, I will review it and we will have one one-on-one calls that will last anywhere between 15 – 30 min to incorporate your characters to the world, make any necessary amendments and iron out any final details before session 0, where we can speak with everyone at the table about expectations, our characters, lines and hopes for the campaign and maybe create pre-established relationships if you so wish to do.
The campaign will restart once we have 5 players. During our one-on-one call, we will discuss your lines and veils, any questions you may have about the world, the campaign, and the rules of the table. The current party consists of a Draconic Sorcerer, an Eldritch Knight and a Gloom Stalker Ranger. They are currently at level 5.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a D&D Beyond account, a Discord Account, Beyond20 extension installed and a Roll20 account. A decent mic, headset and computer are also required. Create the character you wish to play by following the character creation rules published in the listing and please have a general idea for the character backstory you wish to present to the DM before your one on one call.
What Ina brings to the table
As a DM I will be sharing the link of the campaign on D&D Beyond providing access to all the content and materials needed to create and play your characters. Roll20 as an accessible VTT with dynamic lighting and useful tools for both players and DM. Ambient music to set the tone during travel, exploration and combat. Maps, token and spelltokens to create a visually dynamic battlefield.
Homebrew rules
📜Rapid Quaffing: You can consume a potion that restores hit points as a bonus action, while all other potions still require the use of your action. Feeding a potion to another character requires an action. 📜Critical Hits: Roll the normal damage dice and double the result. 📜Resurrection: Matthew Mercer's Fading Spirits rules apply. 📜Death Saving Throws: These occur privately. 📜Assisting Skills checks: Helping a fellow player with a skill check and providing an advantage requires you to have proficiency in the relevant skill.

Safety
How Ina creates a safe table
I will be sending you the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist in order to establish our lines and veils and ensure a safe environment for everyone. The safety tools will also be available in Roll20 for you to use should the need arise. A typical session will involve everyone logging into D&D Beyond (the link to the campaign will be shared with you after joining the game), joining Discord, and accessing the Roll20 campaign. Once everyone is situated and ready, we will jump right into the game. Rolls will be made through D&D Beyond and sent to Roll20 thanks to the Beyond20 Addon. The game will feature a balanced mix of combat, roleplay, and exploration. Battle maps and artwork will be provided alongside narration. Please keep in mind that character death is a real possibility. As adventurers, you may face encounters that range from very easy to extremely deadly. Remember that running is always an option and sometimes the wisest choice depending on the situation. Fudging dice rolls is not allowed, as I believe it undermines the integrity of the game, as well as player agency and suspension of disbelief. I require everyone to be on time and ready for the session, and I expect everyone to stay for the entire duration unless an emergency arises or you inform me beforehand that you will need to leave early. If you need to miss a session, please let me know in advance so I can make the necessary preparations. I would like my players to remain in character as much as possible and avoid metagaming. You can expect a 15-minute break roughly halfway through the session for grabbing snacks, drinks, and bathroom breaks.
