Magick Pulp Theatre
Fallout meets DnD in a magickal post-apocalypse set in retro America.
About the adventure
Nearly two centuries ago Tesla made Magick. Less than a century later we killed ourselves with it. When Magick was first used it was seen as a miracle cure, a way to fix all of society's sins. That was before two world wars where it was used to bloody entire countries with the bodies of poor young men. As the second world war came to a close everyone was on the edge of their seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. Weapons were made in that war, one’s that could reduce the world to ash and every nation had a finger on a button. A group of brilliant men called the Circle tried to prevent it but they couldn’t stop human fear only able to sacrifice themselves to prevent everything dying. It’s been a century since then, long enough for the necrotic radiation to diminish and for civilization to return but the world’s changed forever. Magick is wild now, tree’s grown into sentience as well as height, animal men hunt in the cities, and necrotic parasites hide in the darkened corners of the old world. Mankind has changed as well, no longer able to rely on the rusted infrastructure that the old world was built on; they've taken on the lifestyle of the ancient world, feudal lords and armored knights. Some lords are neutral at best like the Duke of Detroit and his empire of gladiators, others are cruel and ruinous like the King of America and his hooded white knights. No matter who they are, everything is born from the dream of America and all its many nightmares. In a world ready to be reborn, who will you be? This is my blatant, lovingly designed, Fallout campaign. As much as it is meant to be Fallout with all the Atomic Cafe jokes you can imagine it’s also meant to be a “post-apocalyptic fantasy” game. The world is definitely more of a “Green Apocalypse” rather than the standby Mad Max desert wasteland but that’s to facilitate something a bit crazier than normal sci-fi apocalypses. The Gods have returned, magic is in full swing, and what was once a steampunk/magitek version of 1960s America is now a world of wild supernatural monsters, gods, and monsters sitting in the ruins of old world America. It’s King Arthur in Fallout 4, it’s robots versus ghosts, it’s steampunk rifles and magic mega-weapons, it’s a lot of things and I think it’ll be unique.

About me
Hi there! If you're reading this that hopefully means you're interested in having me DM a game for you. I've been running since I was in high school and my passion for the game has grown every day since then! I enjoy creating dynamic situations and adventures that both play to the interests of my players as well as use interesting lore to help immerse the players. If any of that sounds like your kind of fun please continue reading! As much as I enjoy running DnD and other RPG systems my greatest passion is world building. I have a long list of different settings and campaigns, at least one for each genre you could think of. I would love to run any of them but I think many players are interested in something a bit more personal, this is where I think what I offer is unique to anyone else on this site. I will make you and your friends your own custom setting, spending two weeks working on it using ideas from you and your friends. Tell me what races, genres, concepts, and influences you are interested in and I will have something specific to your liking for a full campaign set in it! I'll even give you access to a copy of the setting document, letting you use it for your own games and stories long after our game finishes! This is my unique passion, to create settings with abundant imagination and a grand love that I'd love to share with you! If this interests you please contact me!

What can I say about Brad? Not only are they extremely patient and kind but also have a knack for creating such amazing worlds. They are truly amazing when it comes to their worlds, whether that be a fantasy game, an old Western campaign, or a sci-fi horror game! I cannot stop singing praises for them! Overall a great DM and a great person too!
Brad is honestly one of the best DMs I've ever played with. Every game runs smoothly and is incredibly immersive. He really helps his players get to know the lore and setting while also being helpful in creating a character and setting boundaries. Prime example of an amazing DM.
I cannot recommend this DM enough. On top of having extremely well planned and well put together TTRPG environments, they make the actual games just that engaging as well. Brad is one of my favorite DMs and I can guarantee that you'll be hard-pressed to find any facet of his professionalism and DMing style lacking.
Great guy, he's been my DM for about a year now, he does a great job and genuinely cares about his players. If you are looking for a DM and don't know who to choose, I HIGHLY recommend Brad, also never seen such an LGBTQ+ friendly DM. Brad Definitely creates a safe gaming environment while making some of the most engaging campaigns I've played in in a long time. Hopefully I'll get to meet you in a game one day!
I've been a player in DM Brad's Cosmic Horror campaign for a few months and it's been really and enjoyable. As a worldbuilding masochist myself, the DM is a terrific worldbuilder and I love slowly unpacking the tons of consistent and well written lore he puts into the setting. DM Brad is also great at managing the pacing of the sessions, running combat efficiently and making sure progress is made while still giving us plenty of time to explore and roleplay. I've also been impressed at the sense of freedom in my game. Whether through meticulous planning or just mastery of his setting and improv, it feels like no matter which thread we choose to follow, which place we choose to visit or which lead we choose to investigate, he always seems to be ready.
Character creation
Creating your character
We will have a session 0 for both you and I, where we will talk about your character and what the campaign needs from you backstory wise. You will start at the same level as the players in the game and we will be using Spheres 5e as well as a custom homebrew setting doc of Traditions and Races.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have a mic, a way to use Roll20, and fill out the Backstory Sheet.

How Undercroft Gaming (Brad) creates a safe table
We use both Session 0s, trigger lists, and breaks. If you have a problem just text me and the game will take a break for us to talk about how you were disrespected or triggered. I take mental health and bigotry very VERY seriously. If you have a problem it will be taken seriously.
