About the adventure

Free session 0 or one on one character build if you jump in later Plot Notes: Hundreds of years ago, the jealous god Morthos plunged the world into a dark "Twilight Age" that wreaked havoc on the world. A brave group of adventurers were able to step forward, however, and cast one grand spell to seal the dark god away. Since then, the world has flourished, and King Lancaster has been able to unite the provinces that surround the world tree into a grand kingdom. Troublingly, at this year's grand gladiatorial festival, the king is nowhere to be seen. Our party is united through fate, and thrust into one simple job to save King Lancaster that will pay them more money than they can imagine. But is this mission too good to be true? Can you actually handle the task set in front of you? And is this world truly free from the clutches of the evil god Morthos? Gameplay and Setting Notes: After having 5 groups run through this world, it is more alive and fleshed out than ever. This is a beginner and advanced player friendly original campaign. It is relatively high fantasy adventure game that jumps genres and sees the party charging magical artifacts all around the kingdom. Combat happens relatively often, and can be challenging but fair. Major points always go to the parties who are able to come up with creative solutions. Of course I want to tell the story of an epic journey, but mostly want to have a fun time around the table and be silly when appropriate. The campaign will take us in a variety of different styles and themes to keep things fresh. All party members will be asked about a personal character journey they want to take in session 0, or as you join. I want to make sure we get to explore each character and see them grow. Game stories will be fitted to advance personal plots, or character games will be written and used.

About me

Queer DM based out of Denver, CO. I've been playing since high school, took the mantle of GM after college in 2016 and never looked back. Been running multiple campaigns and one shots at the professional level since 2023. Very beginner friendly, and love to explore all systems out there. I run games focusing on riddles, puzzles, roleplay, etc. The idea is to make it a fun challenge that you can't just roll dice through. That goes both ways though. Feel free to come up with the clever solution to keep me on my toes. Always looking for a new way to push myself out of my creative comfort zone. Feedback is always very welcome, as the goal is to cater to the party's interests as much as possible. I understand that my job is to ensure that you have the best time playing

Character creation

Creating your character

We can create characters in a free session 0, or should the party like, we can do a free one on one for a maximum of one hour. We will start at level 1, and will progressively level as the game goes on to 15

The current party

Silly party needs help to save the world. Our level 12 party has just arrived at the library of the most gifted sage in the land, but something is not right. A similacrum of the missing sage is asking the crew questions, but seems to not be trustworthy. Our paladin sent a familiar up to the secod story, and warned them that there is someting dangerous ahead. How will they be able to move forward? What does this similacrum want from our party? And will you join the inevitable group hug at the end of each encounter?

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a mic, and a webcam or image of your character. Hero forge screen grab or AI image is accepted. Please just approach the game with an open mind, and a willingness to go with the flow. Respect for all people playing is a non negotiable.

What Tanner brings to the table

I can host on discord, and will host a Roll 20 game. The ask is that you have the beyond 20 chrome add on, to link Roll 20 and D&D Beyond. I make maps, digital dice will be provided via Roll 20, and can make a character image if you do not have one.

Safety

How Tanner creates a safe table

We will discuss as a party where any boundaries are in a session 0, and set character missions for the campaign. Overall this is a rule of cool game that is designed to challenge the party while allowing laughs all along the way. I do have a survey for triggers to ensure that I do not cross any lines. At the end of the day, the mission is to create the most fun and fulfilling, yet challenging, game for the party as possible. 100% open door policy to avoid certain topics, or lean into character backstory.
