About the adventure

This is a campaign for Warhammer40k Imperium Maledictum Litany of the Forgotten The light of the Emperor is distant here. Faint. Failing. The Macharian Sector, once a proud remnant of conquest and compliance, now drifts on the edge of oblivion. The Cicatrix Maledictum has split the stars asunder, and the Astronomican—the psychic beacon of Terra—is an erratic whisper in the void. Warp storms churn at the sector’s edge. Astropathic signals arrive twisted or not at all. Help will not come. Here, in the cold dark, the forgotten cling to life. Your story begins on Voll, a hive world with poisoned skies and a bio-acidic slurry for soil—precious to the Munitorum for its healing unguents, combat stimulants, and rare chems. Hive Rokarth, capital of Voll, rises like a black arachnid over the drained, sunken fields: a labyrinth of manufactorums, sluice-choked conduits, and suffering. The hive's middle levels glisten with medicae purity; the underhive rots with acid rain and creeping ancient terrors. Above, the classes feed on one another. Guilds and cartels war with coin, contract and carnage. Nobles whisper in cathedrums of brass. Arbitrators silence the loud. You are none of them. You are the tools. The pawns. The expendable. Bound to a patron who owns your fate, you must survive the hive's shifting tides, its acid floods, its ancient hungers. But survival is not enough. Will you rise and rewrite your fate? Will you forge a new creed in this abandoned sector? Or will your name become one more verse in the Litany of the Forgotten? Theme & Style: This campaign is grimdark, steeped in the oppressive atmosphere of Warhammer 40,000’s most brutal truths: isolation, exploitation, corruption, and survival. Players will explore themes of class struggle, moral compromise, and the fragility of hope in a forgotten corner of the galaxy where the Emperor’s light is little more than myth. Expect a mix of political intrigue, industrial horror, and survival drama, as your characters navigate a world of uncaring bureaucracy, inhuman xeno-life, and ancient secrets buried beneath the hive’s foundations. Characters are not mighty heroes—they’re desperate individuals clinging to purpose, caught in the gears of an empire that has abandoned them. Content Warning: This game contains mature themes, including horror, violence, death, corruption, and supernatural terror. Characters will face psychological and physical dangers, dark magic, and grotesque creatures. Themes of moral decay, societal collapse, and the fragility of life are ever-present. This is a setting where grim realities meet twisted nightmares, so be prepared for a game that’s not for the faint-hearted. For Players Who: Love immersive storytelling with a dark, gritty tone. Enjoy solving mysteries in a world full of danger and intrigue. Are ready for tactical combat where every action can mean life or death. Want to explore the depths of a rich and oppressive setting where heroism is hard-won.

About me

I started gaming when I was 10 years old and instantly fell in love with it. It gave me a creative outlet and a playground to learn about the world and important issues like history, social justice, team work and problem solving. Over the last 30 years, I have run thousands of campaigns and have even had the joy of teaching my own 3 kids the art of role playing (Ages 14, 11 and 7). I am new player, Autism, LGBTQ+ & POC friendly. I believe that every one who is a sentient being is worthy of respect love and understanding I look forward to speaking with you soon and adventuring with you! I have provided engaging experiences in the games listed below: Dungeons and Dragons Star Wars D6 Eclipse Phase Call of Cthulhu Dragon Age Mage the Ascension Vampire the Masquerade The Expanse Traveller Numenera And much more! I love learning new systems.

Raul is a phenomenal GM and I cannot recommend him enough. On the player front, he is open to both experienced and new players. For new players, he eases them into the rules and does not expect them to know a set number of rules or lore before joining a game. I greatly appreciated that when I joined a couple game whose setting I enjoyed, but I had no game experience in. Raul is also friendly to LGBT+ and neurodivergent players. He has good rules set up to keep games open and safe for folks and is very approachable when there is an issue. For player's characters, Raul is open with working with players to build the characters they want to play and then finding them a place in the game setting. He is great to work with to keep a character plausible and is very approachable when it comes to discussing what goes into a character and why they do what they do. If he does veto something, he explains why and also offers other, plausible options for a character. For the game world, Raul does a fantastic job building the setting using maps, character pictures, and theater of the mind. He has some fantastic plot ideas and, if characters get side-tracked with side quests, he doesn't shoehorn them to a place and instead lets the story grow organically (and slowly nudges us back to the main quest haha). Raul knows the rules for the games he leads, but he also plays by the rule of cool to keep things fun for the group. Overall, I highly recommend joining a game Raul GMs. I joined one game because I loved the setting. He does such a great job GMing that, when he started another game for a different setting that isn't normally quite my cup of tea, I joined as I had confidence in how Raul handles things and was willing to give it a try because of that. The game has been an absolute blast and I do not regret giving it a try. As the icing on the cake, the prices he has for his games are very fair for the sheer amount of content and play hours you get. Give one of his games a go too. :)

What Raul "the Friendly Neighborhood Game Master" brings to the table

What Do I Bring to Our Game? My focus is on cooperative storytelling, crafting harrowing situations filled with political intrigue, intense combat, and environmental challenges. I love building intricate mysteries for the group to unravel, and I ensure the world reacts to player choices—your actions will shape not only your character's life but the entire narrative. The Warhammer 40K universe is vast—rich with decades of lore, thousands of stories, and a depth few settings can match. While I strive to respect the tone, themes, and world of Imperium Maledictum, I don’t claim to have an encyclopedic or exhaustive knowledge of every detail across its 40+ years of history. My goal is to create a compelling, immersive, and fun experience that honors the setting while also allowing room for creativity and collaborative storytelling. If you're looking for a game where the GM can quote obscure codex entries by heart or cross-reference niche lore without pause, this may not be the right table for you. But if you're here to explore a grim, fascinating universe together—and you're open to an interpretation that captures the spirit of Warhammer more than strict canon compliance—then you're absolutely in the right place. I use Foundry as our Virtual Tabletop (VTT) of choice, so you'll need to create an account on The Forge to log in. https://forge-vtt.com/account/login Expect accents and voices—some will be great, some hilariously bad—but if they don't enhance the story, I'll drop them. Music plays a big role in setting the tone, and I'll share it through Zoom or provide a Spotify link. We'll use Zoom for video conferencing, and I'll also create a Discord server for the party to stay connected.

Safety
How Raul "the Friendly Neighborhood Game Master" creates a safe table

Our Game Environment This group is Beginner, LGBTQ'🏳️‍🌈 friendly & POC-👋🏿👋🏾👋🏽👋🏼friendly. Our game is set in the grim and perilous universe of Warhammer 40,000: Imperium Maledictum, a setting filled with shadowy conspiracies, tyrannical power, and existential horror. While the Imperium is bleak and merciless, our table is safe, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone. We celebrate diversity, and this game welcomes people of color, LGBTQ+ players, neurodivergent individuals, and participants from all backgrounds. Everyone at the table deserves to feel respected, heard, and comfortable engaging in the shared storytelling experience. Hateful behavior—such as racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or bullying—is not tolerated. One warning may be given as a chance to adjust behavior. Continued violations will result in a permanent removal from the game. This ensures that we maintain a space where all players feel safe, seen, and supported. Lines and Veils We explore dark and mature themes in the Imperium Nihilus—desperation, oppression, and corruption are all parts of the Warhammer 40K narrative. However, we use Lines and Veils to ensure those themes are approached with care and mutual consent: Lines are hard limits—topics that are off-limits and will not appear in the game in any form. Veils are softer limits—topics that may exist in the setting but will be handled with discretion or kept “off-screen.” For example, we might explore the brutality of the Imperium’s justice system but draw a veil over any scenes involving torture or set a line against sexual violence entirely. Monte Cook Consent Checklist Before the campaign begins, each player will complete the Monte Cook Consent Checklist, a tool that allows us to discuss and categorize sensitive topics such as: Horror elements Mental health themes Religious or ideological conflict Body horror Powerlessness and manipulation Violence and death Players mark topics as: 🟢 Green – Fine to include 🟡 Yellow – Proceed with caution or discussion 🔴 Red – Do not include This lets us build an experience tailored to everyone’s comfort level, ensuring the oppressive darkness of the Imperium doesn’t intrude into real-world discomfort. Breaks and the Open-Door Policy Even in the far future, your well-being comes first. Scheduled Breaks: We’ll take regular pauses so players can decompress, grab a drink, or just breathe. Player-Initiated Breaks: Anyone can request a break at any time for any reason—no explanation needed. Open-Door Policy: Need to step away for part of the session or even the whole game? That’s always okay. You can rejoin when you’re ready, no questions asked.
