About the adventure
This modified version of Curse of Strahd is a Gothic Horror tale taking place in a world of decay, dread, and despair. The people are broken, hope is fleeting, and malevolence is ever-present. (Though your characters may bring light, laughter and whimsy) The land itself is cursed, and you will feel its weight on your soul. What you uncover may save you… or damn you. Resources are scarce, allies are few, and the odds are rarely in your favor. Not all choices will be black and white, and even good intentions can lead to terrible outcomes. Your choices will shape the world around you. Actions have consequences, and the story will evolve based on the paths you choose. The Mists are calling and it has you, it won't let go. Join us to rid this land of its curse and free the Barovians and yourselves!

Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings, adventurers! My name is Cody, and I’ve been a Game Master for over a decade, weaving epic tales and unforgettable journeys in Dungeons & Dragons and, more recently, Pathfinder 2e, which I’ve completely fallen in love with. Originally from Chicago, I now call Europe home, where I continue to fuel my passion for immersive storytelling and dynamic gameplay. For me, tabletop RPGs are more than just games—they’re about crafting worlds, creating deep character moments, and forging unforgettable experiences. I thrive on building rich narratives, balancing combat with roleplay, and making every session feel meaningful and engaging. My goal is simple: to provide my players with thrilling, immersive experiences where we laugh, strategize, and create legendary memories together. If you’re looking for a GM who is passionate, experienced, and committed to work on making every session feel like an epic tale, then I’d love to welcome you to my table! Are you ready to step into the story? The dice are waiting to decide your fate! 🎲✨

Creating your character
The Curse of Strahd will take characters from level 2 to anywhere between level 10 and 14. It is a sandbox which means characters have the freedom of choosing where they go and when ort which objectives/leads they wish to follow. It is possible to enter an area that is above or below the advised level or encounter a foe much weaker or stronger than yourselves. Knowledge is power in this campaign so tread wisely. Session Zero & Player Expectations Before we embark on this journey, we will have a Session Zero—a free session dedicated to character creation, party cohesion, and setting expectations. This is a collaborative experience, and I want to ensure that every player is engaged and invested in the story. The Lands of Barovia contain many Undead monsters but I will add/incorporate many living monsters as well.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players must have a working mic to play. I will host the game through foundry and chat through discord which I will send to everyone once you join the game. It would be good to use pathbuilder to help create your character. I use Syrinscape for ambience which is a simple audio player to download and free for you. You should all be familiar with the Pathfinder 2e rules but I am also beginner friendly. Though it is not necessary, try to have 2-3 character concepts in mind before session zero. Once you join the discord I will pin messages that will include possible character hooks but am always open to creative new ideas.
What Cody brings to the table
I like to run rule of cool and sometimes may get a rule incorrect but will continue forward for the sake of continuity and can talk about the proper rules out of session. I am also very open to using homebrewed rules for certain instances that make the game fun for all. Intense combats on Foundry VTT with maps/tokens/objectives. Engaging Roleplaying and Social encounters with a few different voice actings though I am no pro, theatre of mind scenes and animated maps, plus atmospheric and thematic music with syrinscape.

How Cody creates a safe table
Will send a safety content checklist and Session 0 will go over all potential instances and any possible moments of discomfort. I am very open and would love for my players to be comfortable and enjoy their time. Anyone who doesn't wish to speak about it in front of others may message me privately and I will work with them to resolve the issue. Details will be sent to them via discord
