Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay: The Enemy Within: Death on the Reik
Chapter Two of the famous campaign, brought to you in 5 thrilling chapters, guaranteed to make you fall in love with the grimdark world of Warhammer!
About the adventure
"At the appointed time, we shall rise from our secret places and throw down the towns and cities of the Empire. Chaos will cover this land, and we, the Chosen Servants, shall be exalted in HIS eyes. Hail to Tzeentch, Changer of the Ways! Njawrr’thakh ‘Lzimbarr Tzeentch!" The Empire of Karl Franz stretches from the Sea of Claws in the north to the Black Mountains in the south, and beyond that perilous range, the wild and untamed lands of the Border Princes. It is a beacon of civilisation in an untamed world. Sigmar, its founder, is now a god, his influence still shepherding his chosen peoples. From mighty Altdorf, all are fairly ruled, from the poorest citizen to the most luminous noble, each a proud heir to Sigmar’s glorious destiny. That, at least, is what the child and the sycophant claim. The truth of life in the Empire is rarely glorious, often short, and never without peril. If you wish to climb out of the gutter, you better have the coin to pay for the privilege, or failing that, a blade to cut your way free. The Empire itself is a fractious mess, a handful of Great Provinces vying for power and always with a keen eye toward snatching any advantage from a neighbour. The nobility are witless hedonists, or scheming misanthropes, heedless of the suffering left in their wake. This cankerous state cannot go on, and indeed revolutionaries whisper of a better world. Some preach that ancient and terrible gods, the ruinous powers of Chaos, offer the only hope of change. They whisper sweet succour and velvet promises, embracing the witch, the mutant, and the heretic. Their secret plots and unseen deeds suffuse the Old World, and patiently they await that prophesied day when they will arise from their secret places and throw down the works of Man, and Elf, and Dwarf, to usher in a terrible age of Chaos. From this tangle of political machinations, hidden cults, and foul ambition, a scant handful dare to hope for something more. Ordinary folk who refuse to accept their lot in life, who dare to hope for a better life. Whether by sword or by flame, by hidden betrayal or by tremulous sin, they mean to claim it. Most will perish, and a few will wish they had. The rest? Well… There are no heroes here, only those with the mettle to survive and prosper. How will you fare in the Grim and Perilous Fantasy world of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay! Gather your heroes as you take them from humble beginnings as penniless adventurers to the halls of the great and powerful, where every decision can change the fate of the Empire. So, stick a feather in your hennin hat, grab your zweihander, and unleash your small but vicious dog; it’s time to stand against Chaos or at least put a few pfennigs in your pocket!

About me
"Humans need fantasy to be human..."- Death My name is Mike and I'm a happy little TTRPG enthusiast currently residing in the South East of England, having claimed this land with the aid of my supportive partner and my less than supportive minions (three grumpy cats)! One day after a theatre rehearsal I was pressured into joining this weird cult where they rolled dice and seemed to pray to them for success... I then thought: "Why not let it consume my life?" Now I'm a GM with over 10 years of experience in over 40 different systems, meaning that I'm ever keen to share my love of Tabletop Role-Playing (TTRPG) with as many new players as I can! Thus Kobold Kaverns was born, a goal of mine to help both fresh and veteran players alike to get involved in their favourite TTRPG settings, or to discover brand new ones, all presented with high-quality maps, tokens, music, and storytelling! All of this is run by your friendly neighbourhood GM Mike! A man who not only has way too much time on his hands, but also has a passion for acting, gaming, and bringing people together through online tabletop games. Whether it is the well-known dungeons of D&D 5.E, the dark and anarchist-filled future of Cyberpunk, or the cramped terrifying atmosphere of Alien, you are guaranteed to find a game (and a group) to suit your play style! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my players fully engaged with the story, whether it be through laughter or tense anticipation of the action to come. My goal is to create an immersive and gratifying experience for all involved! I am adept at crafting customized adventures tailored to each player's character, but I am also experienced in running pre-written modules for those who prefer a more structured gaming experience. Are you searching for a skilled and experienced game master to lead you on an exciting TTRPG adventure? Look no further because I am here to guide you! Don't hesitate to contact me if you are seeking a passionate and experienced game master to help bring your TTRPG adventure to life. Let's connect for a friendly chat and discuss how we can make your gaming experience one to remember!

Players say this GM is great at:
Sets the Mood
Creativity
Storytelling
Mike is a great GM who creates tough challenging worlds that are a joy to to play in. The tone can shift from deadly serious to silly shenanigans and back again with effortless ease. I have been a player of Mikes a number of years over a variety of different games, systems and campaigns and the quality of each session is very high. I can not recommend this GM enough!
I have been a player in Mike's games for multiple sessions. I have found Mike to be a supportive and encouraging GM who truly wants players to develop there own ideas and creativity within the world that has been created for them. And that world is incredibly immersive with diverse but interconnected plots - often taking unexpected turns related to character backstory or party actions. The immersive feel is enhanced through excellent use of virtual table top resources and mood setting music and sound effects, but these are never allowed to overpower the collective imaginative storytelling. I would absolutely recommend Mike for experienced players looking for a role play focused experience, but having also played systems with Mike with which I was not familiar I would also recommend him for players starting on their TTRPG journey as he ensures players have access to all required resources and is very supportive in helping players learn new rule sets or concepts at their pace. Highly recommend Mike a 10/10 gaming experience.
I've been playing TTRPGS for 35 years and with Mike for a couple of those years and I can safely say I haven't had another GM who sets the mood as well as he does. His ability to weave music, sounds, voices and visual aids together to create a sense of dread, hope, relaxation or any other emotion he cares to make us feel at any given time is a true treasure. Mike's games are always a challenge without being combatative against the players. His worldbuilding I have seen first hand in three seperate settings all of which have included either partial or total homebrew backgrounds and it is worthwhile experiencing for yourself. I mostly recommend Mike because he is competent and flexible to the players wishes however as I have seen him take boring pre written modules and turn them into something memorable and fun that fits the parties ideas of a great game. If you want a GM who bends over backwards for you and is highly communicative pick GM Mike/KoboldandKaverns for your next game.
I've been a player in Mike's games for a while now, and I can honestly say I've never had a DM who is able to really draw you into the world as effectively as Mike can. From the music to the voices and visual aides, you can tell that he is genuinely passionate about the worlds he's putting you in, and because of that he's able to make you feel the emotions that your character would be feeling in that moment - be it hope and joy, or fear and loss. Another strength of his games is the level of challenge and freedom he presents the players. The problems your characters face are real, and they won't be easy to overcome - which is what makes it all the more rewarding when you do. That challenge also means that if your plan sucks, you might fail - and that's great! A victory is only a victory if there was a chance of defeat. If you want a GM who cares about his players, and the story you're all making together, and who is always around to answer questions about your character or the world, then honestly, I cannot recommend Mike enough.

How Kobold Kaverns (GM Mike) creates a safe table
⭐ - X, N, & O Communication: To make sure everyone feels comfortable at all times, we’ll be using the X, N, and O system. X means stop the game immediately if something crosses a serious boundary, N means something is approaching your discomfort zone, and O lets us know everything is okay. You’re always welcome to message me privately before, during, or after gameplay to use these signals or address anything else on your mind. This system allows for real-time feedback and ensures that any concerns can be handled promptly and with care. ⭐ - Open Door Policy: Real Life comes first - life happens, and that’s okay! My open-door policy means you can leave the game at any time for any reason-no questions asked, no pressure, no negative repercussions. Whether it's because of an emergency, discomfort, or simply because you're not enjoying the session, your well-being always comes first. I want you to know that your participation is always valued, but there’s no obligation to stay if real life calls or if the game’s not working for you. ⭐ - Our Gameplay: You can look forward to deep, narrative-driven sessions where character development, interaction, and teamwork are central. The world will present tactical challenges, and your decisions will have meaningful consequences-so think ahead! While I want you to have fun, when your character steps into a fire, expect them to get burned. The balance between risk and reward will drive much of the experience, and I’ll do my best to keep you on your toes! Your safety and enjoyment are my top priorities. By implementing these tools and practices, I hope to create a space where we can create a rich, immersive world together. Your comfort and feedback are vital to this, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any thoughts or suggestions along the way.
