The Scarab Lord's Tomb - Real Terrain, Beginner Friendly
About the adventure
Treasure and glory awaits those who find the resting place of an ancient Saran figure known only as the Scarab Lord. The entrance to his lost tomb has recently been discovered and it's a race to the riches held inside. Will the party find themselves victorious or will their stories be lost to the sands as well? This level 8 adventure is a dungeon dive through a large ziggurat tomb. Players will be faced with puzzles, ancient lore, and dangerous combat. Players of all experience levels are welcome to join.

About me
Hey all! My name is Aislinn. I’m @dollar_store_dm on instagram and TikTok. I am the DM for the RollPlay INC podcast, a cast member on BlueBox RPG, and a creator of budget terrain and minis to help elevate the game. My games focus a lot on the collaborative storytelling aspect of TTRPGs. I love running interesting roleplay and inventive combat. I’m here to make sure we all have a fantastic time and tell epic stories together! I previously was a middle school teacher and ran the school’s dnd club so I welcome young players to my table. Aislinn’s command of storytelling is impeccable!! She is fun, funny, engaging and wonderfully fun to watch and listen to. You can tell that she puts a tremendous amount of preparation and effort into making a game that is fun and challenging for everyone at the table, and I didn’t have a moment where I was bored or disengaged. And she truly celebrates each character’s moments, while still enjoying dishing out damage and danger to the party. I highly recommend her as a DM, I’ve played with many and she’s one of the very best!!!

Absolutely amazing DM, very fun and definitely allowed the "Rule of Cool" had an absolute blast playing at her table. Really love that she requires webcam, make the game feel like you're hanging out with friends and allows the player to play off of their reactions.

1000% recommend! Being at Aislinn's table was such a delight, she has such a warm and welcoming energy that it seemed like everyone felt at ease getting started. Her physical terrain is amazing and provides such a unique experience for an online game. She was an amazing facilitator and DM. We were playing a one-shot she wrote herself and it was an easy enough to follow concept while still being interesting and feeling unique. She also has great time management and kept the session flowing without it ever feeling rushed. I will absolutely be signing up for another game with her, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Aislinn, Dollar Store DM has an amazing ability to narrate all parts of the story and choices made by players. She narrates combat in such a way that makes it feel more real and really makes you feel like you are there participating in it. An absolute pleasure to have her as a DM. Was a lot of fun participating in her game session with miniatures that accurately represented our characters.

Character creation
Creating your character
Please create a level 8 character. I will have some premade sheets available for use. The sheets can be created wherever you are most comfortable (D&D Beyond, physical sheet, PDF etc.). Stats will be generated using the 4d6 drop the lowest method. All published races and classes are available.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have a mic and webcam and keep your webcam on. This helps me connect with you as a player and be a better GM for you. You can roll with IRL or digital dice. For your character, I will work with you to incorporate your vision and background into the game itself given enough heads up. I will send a discord invite to all players and try to set up a group chat as early as possible so players can get to know each other before the session a bit.
What Aislinn, Dollar Store DM brings to the table
This adventure features physical terrain shared via video on Zoom. As a GM, I follow the Rule of Cool to make sure that my players get to have cool moments throughout the session. With combat, I like to have dynamic combat that involves not only the enemies but also the physical environment itself accentuated by the addition of music selected for the adventure.

You will receive a link to the Lines and Veils doc and if at any point you need to send an X, N, or O, all you need to do is shoot me a message and it will be handled accordingly. After the session, we will take time to debrief the session and do our stars and wishes.
