About Weston

Hello! I'm Weston, a GM with experience running games across multiple systems including D&D 5e, LANCER, and World of Darkness. I've guided both brand-new players and veterans through memorable adventures, from time travel shenanigans to modern supernatural horror-mystery. I discovered TTRPGs in high school and fell in love with collaborative storytelling in college, where game night became the highlight of my roommates' week. Since then, I've run multiple campaigns and one-shots both online and in-person, even designing my own systems to explore what makes these games special. What drives me as a GM is creating those magical moments - when the perfect plan comes together, when a character revelation changes everything, or when the whole table erupts in laughter or cheers. I believe great games happen when everyone contributes to the story. Whether you're picking up dice for the first time or you're a seasoned adventurer looking for a new table, I'd love to help create your next great TTRPG memory. Let's roll some dice and tell an amazing story together! Banner Image Credit: Joe Maldonado on Unsplash

I got started GMing...

for my roommates in college. I started with LANCER one shots and gradually expanded into a full Demon: The Fallen campaign we are still playing today. TTRPGs continue to be a way for us to stay close together even as our lives move apart.

My favorite shows/movies are

End of Evangelion, Nosferatu, Mean Girls, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Cowboy Bebop, Barbie, Skinamarink, Princess Mononoke, Twin Peaks.

How Weston runs games

I create collaborative stories where players drive the narrative and their choices matter. Whether you prefer heroic adventures, tense mysteries, or character-driven drama, I adapt to what the table finds fun. I believe the best games balance meaningful challenges with moments of triumph, humor, and discovery. My games feature vivid NPCs, engaging puzzles, and combat that rewards creative tactics. While I enjoy exploring deeper themes when the table is interested, my primary goal is ensuring everyone has an engaging, memorable session. New players encouraged - I love introducing people to TTRPGs!

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

David Lynch.

My games focus on...

big ideas and themes. These don't need to be complex, but even having a concept like "Justice" explicitly central to the story gives everything else a body around which to orbit.

Rules are...

a tool to give the story structure. Rules facilitate the collaboration between the players and game master like sheet music directs musicians. They're helpful, and often necessary, but they're not the point. The point is to make music.

Weston's ideal table

Anyone is welcome at my table! I'm primarily interested in helping out new players learn the ropes of TTRPGs, but I think everyone, regardless of prior experience, would enjoy playing with me. I am always ready to adapt to the needs and expectations of the players.

I love it when a player

surprises me! Often, I have an idea for how things are going to go, and then someone will make a choice or solve a problem in a way I didn't anticipate. Rather than being frustrating, these moments serve as creative inspiration and ensure that players own the story as much as I do.

I think metagaming...

is not necessarily a bad thing. I appreciate when players use their understanding of the larger plot and themes to inform the actions of their characters. As long as it's used to tell a more interesting story, "meta" information is not a problem.

My perfect party mix is

people who take the time to understand what makes the other characters tick. Relationships between player characters, whether friendly or adversarial, serious or comedic, significant or transitory, give texture to the social TTRPG experience.
