About Adam Awe
I've been playing TTRPGs for almost 20 years and have been DMing for about 7 years. I have a passion in building worlds and then seeing how they grow with players. While I love homebrew, I also enjoy the occasional one shots or book lead campaigns. I specialize in D&D 5e, but have some experience with Daggerheart and Vampire: The Masquerade. I have a a good memory for rules and lore while encouraging crazy ideas in the process! I look to run games centered around my homebrew, but also will be running things involving The Crooked Moon, The Lord of the Rings, and other expanded projects. New players can find a place here learning the rules and enjoying a balanced story. Experienced players may learn something as well, but still find challenges where they weren't expected. I squash player to player toxicity (you can be toxic to NPCs as needed) and don't allow hate against other players, races, values, etc.

I became a GM because
I have lots of stories and ideas to share! I want others to help me build these fantasy worlds that are evolving in my head.
My favorite shows/movies are
Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Fairy Tail, Dimension 20
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing video games with my kids, 3D printing, building/fixing things!
How Adam Awe runs games
I encourage players to do what they are comfortable and I adapt to that. I like to have fun battles and cool puzzles. Role play will always be a factor, but that takes two and not everyone is comfortable with it. That's ok. I really enjoy lore that circles back around to surprise you later. Combat that makes sense and some combat that is just there for killing stuff. Bother are important and needed! The ability to talk yourself out of a fight or find a clue that avoids one completely. Anything is possible especially if the player asks.

My games focus on...
having fun, quests, exploration, puzzles and combat. I try to involved many different parts and usually lean heavier on sections I know my current players enjoy.
Rules are...
important to have fun! Anyone can win from cheating pretty easily. Winning by learning and working with the rules is a challenge and more rewarding! They are there to help you know what you can do, not restrict you
When it comes to voices
I enjoy doing them and accents in general and encourage others to do them as well. It helps differentiate who is who with so many NPCs around.
Adam Awe's ideal table
I enjoy it when people get along and have similar goals. There is no room for tearing people down or any toxicity at all. Everyone is there to unwind, chill out and have a good time. When people start feeling like they are the main character and need to "win" there are problems arriving soon after. D&D doesn't have winners. Failing is just as important as succeeding or else there are no stakes! The point is watching yourself fail or grow and enjoying it either way.

I love it when a player
helps build the world and environment! They can add their own flairs and then it's canon. It's a story for everyone to tell and players should be able to feel that freedom.
I think metagaming...
takes away from your and everyone's experience. You can't get rid of your knowledge, but you can act like your character doesn't know what is going to happen! As always, try to be your character and reason things that way.
My table is not the place for...
toxic players and people who feel like they need to "win" at any cost. I also don't like it when players try to tell others players how they should run their own character. Everyone gets that choice. Telling someone suggestions or forgotten abilities isn't the same as controlling the others.
