About Sangrius
A player of 10+ years and a GM of 5 years, I've been in this world of storytelling and plot crafting for about as long as I've been a writer. I've done live theatre and voiceover work, and I bring that experience into my GMing, guaranteeing every NPC you meet will feel like another player at the table (just not as important as you). I am an avid fan of Star Wars and Dungeons and Dragons, typically preferring homebrew to RAW settings.

I got started GMing...
with 5e about 8 years ago. I had been playing with some friends, campaign ended, and I decided to give it a shot. Never looked back, no regrets.
My favorite shows/movies are
Favorite shows: Mandolorian (first two seasons specifically), Andor, Vikings, Black Sails, The Last Kingdom. Favorite movies: The King, Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, War Machine, Northman, How to Train Your Dragon (both movies)
When I'm not running games I'm...
Acting, training stage combat, training Muay Thai and Judo, singing, voice acting, going on nature hikes, going to ren faires. And writing up the next session, of course!
How Sangrius runs games
Personally, I am roleplay > everything. The interactions between characters, among characters, is where this game gets its magic. My combats are intense, but I reward out of the box thinking and I'm very pro "rule of cool." I will always do my best to "yes, and" you, but when it comes to disciplinary problems, I'm very strict. We're all here to have fun and creative a story unique to us, and I'm not willing to tolerate anything that would make that any less fun.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
A combination of Tony Gilroy and Guillermo del Toro.
I prep by
writing out a vague outline of what the session will entail, stage out combats if necessary, but I don't go into particulars. Plans are the death of free will in these games, I'm prepared to handle whatever you throw at me.
When it comes to voices
I squeeze every bit of character I can into the NPCs I create. My campaigns are roleplay heavy, so if I want you to engage with that, I have to set the precedent.
Sangrius's ideal table
My tables are for players who want to get immersed in both the world and their characters. I often run RP-Heavy, high stakes and consequence heavy games. If you are a loot gremlin or someone who's more about being funny than getting invested in the game, my table is not for you. If you are a min-maxer and only focused on numbers, my table is not for you. I am a storyteller first, DM second.

I love it when a player
chooses the narrative over optimal play. If your character is enraged, and they do something that they normally wouldn't and it has some consequences? That's way more fun than doing the "correct" thing. Conflict drives the story forward, and players who choose to do that have my heart.
I think it's a red flag when players...
- Attempt to usurp agency from other players. - Do not communicate with the party before doing something narratively consequential. - Try to blow up encounters, whether that be diverting focus or trying to "game" the encounter.
My table is not the place for...
Min-maxers, "gremlins", murder hobos. I take a lot of time to craft the things and people you will interact with, and I would expect appropriate courtesy for that.
