About James
I started out as a young whippersnapper of 11 playing the original boxed set of Dungeons and Dragons (which I didn't understand very well)! As I moved into High School I moved primarily to my favorite genre, science-fiction (Traveller) and super heros (Champions). I've played just about every game out over the years and GMed most of them as well. I have been a forever GM and I'm okay with that! I love structuring stories and adventures, and I love seeing others have a good time! Some good, old fashion escapism can do the soul good, on occasion! Adventure awaits! Let's grab our tool kits, check our vacc suites, prep the engines and take flight!

I became a GM because
I just love entertaining other people. I get most of my enjoyment by making sure everyone is having a good time! Life is stressful enough without adding to it. And as Shakespeare proved, one can be entertained, invigorated and enlightened all at the same time!
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Traveller, FATE, Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game!
When I'm not running games I'm...
exercising (running, yoga), traveling around my beautiful state of Florida and spending time with my adorable adult children.
How James runs games
People are unique, so I try to tailor my games towards the group's preferences. I love a balance between role playing and combat/action. I love exotic, interesting locations that add flavor and challeges to the action, whether that is a muddy battlefield, the zero gravity bridge of a starship with an electrical fire or the most elegant ballroom this side of the River of Time! I can be improvisational and spontaneous and love being surprised by the creative ideas and solutions that players frequently come up with! I will almost certainly laugh, but will adjust to almost any sitution! What counts is that everyone is having fun! A quick note on that: some players really enjoy jumping right in, while some a more reserved. I am perfectly okay with that. I try to encourage engagment, but if a player wants to wait and observe, I'm okay with that too. I've seen some of the quietest players come up with the most fantastic solutions when the stakes are highest! My tone tends to be adventurous and fun, although story focused. On rare occasions, when a player character's story arc demands it, things can get serious, but only if this is appealing to the players. I am a complete ham and you can expect me to sound like an old woman, an obnoxious drunk, a spit and polished officer, a dismissive bureaucrat, or slimy politician at the drop of a hat. My games tend to be PG-13 and I don't normally get into really intense (or depraved) role playing situtions.

Steven Spielberg!
Rules are...
a good start for a good story, but not the end and be all.
When it comes to voices
you can count on me coming up with many and trying to act them out even if I look like an idiot!
James's ideal table
My table is a relaxed place where players who are more team oriented and spontaneous will fit in just great…unless their character is the brooding lone wolf, of course!
