About Nic

There’s something so special about gathering around the table with nothing more than a good idea and a few like-minded individuals. Whether it’s for an extended time or just a few hours, when you sit at my table, you can expect an experience that’s fulfilling, engaging, and tailored to your preferences. My role as the Game Master is to keep a good cadence. This means that I will do my best to ensure that gameplay moves at an appropriate pace for the set time frame and that all players ideas are heard by the table at large. It’s also my job to keep track of game rules and mechanics; you come with the creativity and I’ll guide you through the technical stuff! While I will always come to the table fully prepared to run the game, the world is yours to explore; outside of specific game mechanics, there’s no where in the game you can’t explore and you will always have full agency over your character and your character’s fate.

How Nic runs games

I love focusing on roleplay, but I understand that not everyone is comfortable leaning in, especially in a public situation. One of my specialities is to allow all of my players to engage in the level of roleplay they are comfortable with by filling in the blanks for those less comfortable with roleplay and allowing those more comfortable to shine in the spotlight. It can be hard to know all the rules and sometimes it feels like trying to remember them gets in the way of having a good time. You lean in to playing, I'll be here to remind you of where the walls are. I am a firm believer that actions have consequences and the rules are there for a reason, but we'll work together to tell the story that you want to tell!

Nic's ideal table

My ideal table is full of players who will do it for the plot, even if their actions may not make sense mechanically. I like to focus on the story and let the rules serve as guidelines for how that story is told. My tables are usually chill vibes with the occasional soul-shaking character development moments thrown in for gravitas.
