About Proxi

My name is Proxi. I have been a master of ceremonies for 5 years and learned as most do by diving in as a player and then taking the gm seat by the horns. My skills were eventually picked up by a local summer camp here in Oregon where I learned the art of running sessions purely on the fly due to the little prep time I was awarded with. After two years with them, I have grown comfortable with my ability to handle any situation my players throw at me. Jumping into the unknown is what drives me to continue to GM. I do not care to know what is around every corner and the exact steps my players will take next. I would rather sit in anticipation with them as we discover together where our path may lead. Don't read me wrong though! I still do my prep work for every session.

I got started GMing...

I was really inspire by dimension 20 and loved the amount of trust shared at that table. Its that level of cohesion and chaos that make the game great

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

- narrative - character-driven - cliff-hangers

When I'm not running games I'm...

At my desk, I run a small twitch and tiktok platform centered around ttrpgs and other nerd culture topics. Away from my desk, I work at the front desk of an animal hospital. After a day of seeing animals in a variety of states, I am happy to escape into the realm of fantasy,

How Proxi runs games

Narrative and story are at the forefront of every campaign I run. Your character will be deeply integrated into the world, eventually creating a thin veil between the line of reality and the experience of your character. Every detail of the world will hold value to the story, and it is simply up to you and the party to set the focus and goal posts. There will be twists and turns. Even my lore docs will hold a hint or two about the upcoming story we will tell. Combat is not futile. It is where the bonds of the party, and their morals are tested. My campaigns are role play heavy, with consequences that match the actions of the group. I may create the map, but my players choose the destination. I am highly commutative and will gladly chat about your characters in between sessions. In fact, I insist on a quick private voice chat to discuss the details of your character when creating them for a longer term campaign.

Proxi's ideal table

My players should be story and role play focused. Combat exists but often at the players digression. Should their adventures lead to a battle, then a battle there shall be. Their back stories matter and will be woven and utilized within the plot. I love a good essay of player backstory but will gladly work with those who write less. Do not fear if you are a new role player, I will gladly ease you into the character driven experience. My tables tend to lean serious but plenty of laughs will be shared. In a dark world, there must always be moments of joy that are all the more sweeter when the shadows loom closely behind.
