About Jhonny Homunculus
Hey there :) I'm Jhonny Homunculus (Any Pronouns), and I'm a Professional Dungeon Master running D&D and many other TTRPGs both Online and In-Person for those in the PDX area! I run games at Guardian Games, Gamestorm, Kumoricon, The Paladin's League, and Rose City Comic Con doing everything from Adventurer's League to Homebrewed One-Shots. I love getting players into fun and strange adventures, picking up new game systems all the time, and am always looking for my next quest! I've got flexible hours, and I'm always happy to run a free Session Zero to help with character creation, game overview, or just chat if you're looking to run it yourself. I love TTRPGs because no matter who you are, you can just roll the dice and have some fun. Oh and fighting monsters too. OPEN FOR CUSTOM GAMES!!!

How Jhonny Homunculus runs games
My introduction to TTRPGs was the D&D show "Force Grey: Giant Hunters" that ran on Nerdist's YouTube channel. From there I started going down a rabbit hole of podcasts including The Adventure Zone, Critical Role, Aquisitions Inc, and many others. I enjoy striking the balance of roleplaying and combat, but am always adapting to what my players desire more. I love doing voices (some are better than others), and am always mindful of player agency, which includes above all, consent. I'm currently running two D&D campaigns, and have designed One-Shots for conventions, parties, and online play that ranged from a Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired Spelljammer game to a Battle Royale themed after Ariana Grande (I'm dead serious. A friend asked me to do it for their birthday, and it was a blast). Essentially, there's nothing too weird for me to run so long as it's the type of game you'll get the most fun out of.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Guillermo del Toro, Bong Joon Ho, Edgar Wright, James Gunn, the Daniels, or any of the directors I love who can balance the action, intrigue, and humor I crave in movies.
My favorite trope is...
"You meet in a tavern..." The reason it's my favorite is because of all the ways it sets up my players to establish the tone and introduce their characters. Also, I just love to see the eye-rolling that well seasoned players give me when I say it.
My games focus on...
The story my players end up creating through their actions. At the end of the day no matter what I have prepped on my end, my players always have the reigns of where the story goes. This usually leads to the weirdest, wildest and most unique games I've played.
Jhonny Homunculus's ideal table
My tables have ranged from my closest friends in a living room, to complete strangers at conventions, and to a gaggle of goofballs online via Discord. Therefore, my ideal table is with anyone willing to roll and tell a story together.

I am for a vibe that's...
1. Immersive, to set the scene and inspire roleplaying. 2. Communicative, to give everyone a say in how something plays out and allow players to make strong decisions. 3. Fast & Loose, so that the game keeps its momentum, and everyone gets their time to shine.
I love it when a player
Has a really specific idea for a character. Doesn't matter if they have a novel for a backstory or are simply a joke character. The player's excitement for them inspires me to throw fun challenges at them.
My perfect party mix is
The kind of party who's characters' archetypes, asthetics, and motivations clash with one another. Don't get me wrong I love it when a band of heroes get together, but when a ragtag group strangers who may not be on the same side join forces? That makes the most memorable games.
